Just a good saw that lasts quite awhile on a 5 mAh battery
I use it to trim branches up to about 2-3 inches in diameter. It also works nice on PVC, although you’ll have to clean the cut ends before gluing (I use a piece of coarse sandpaper). Nice saw.

This thing cuts fast
My brother recommended this tool to me, and he is orrect…this tool is versatile and fast when you want it to be.I used it to cut the roots of a large tree stump during removal…down in the dirt. I does run the battery down fast and gets warm when you have it in a bind, but it never looked back. A good strong tool. It sure saved me a lot of hard work.

Great compact sawzall
This is one of my favorite powertools. Light weight, yet still able to cut through just about whatever you throw at it. Great tool for tackling jobs across a variety of applications. Sure the price is fairly high, but you truly do get what you pay for. The only down side is the cost of the batteries can easily be as much or more than the tool itself. But that is easily fixed by buying an off brand battery. But like I said you get what you pay for. So I’d also recommend a dewalt battery as well. Great tool. Decent price. 100 % satisfied!

Great Saw
Purchased as a gift for a woman who is trying to finish out a small cabin to live in. She has been thrilled with this saw as it has so much versatility with the direction you can cut things. With no prior experience, she has done so much on her own and having the right tools helps further the effort.

What can you say?? It is a Dewalt. They are a wonderful tool. This saw is the perfect size for home renos and even better for cutting down small trees. Not to heavy or bulky. It is a wonderful tool to have in your toolbox at home.

Perfect saw zaw for the working man. Didn’t come with battery, but I have plenty of batteries. Works quick and efficient. Love not having to run off a cord. Easy to use in hard places. Would definitely recommend this buy.

Good quality tool
I have a set I bought 6 1/2 years ago. My sawzall burned up because I used it very hard. It was just a regular 20v. This new 20v max is just a little more heavy-duty, works great.

Bought “acceptable” from warehouse
Bought bare tool for under $70. Aside from box, appears in like new condition. Appears to work as intended. Converting many of my corded tools to cordless. So handy to not have cords and plugs to deal with.

I’ve taken the time to read the reviews regarding vibration when using the saw and I’ve concluded that I am a real man and really don’t notice any wild vibrations outside the norm of any other reciprocating saw.If you’re a normal hard working person like me who doesn’t cry about a saw that does its job efficiently you’ll love it. 5 stars across the board.

A beast
I mainly use this for sawing fallen trees on mountain biking trails. With a Diablo 12 inch pruning blade I can go through 16 inch diameter logs. It takes a while but it does the job. This is much lighter (both saw and battery) than my 20 year old Milwaukee sawzall, and is also smaller and much easier to handle. When it does fail in the future I will buy another.

I use this all the time for numerous tasks. It is great for cutting numerous things. It is much quieter than most saws. Its got some weight but im a stick so prob easier for most, but is a good size and looks great like all dewalt products.

Very Happy With This
A couple of days after I got this, we had a bad storm come through and it snapped a number of big branches off my trees in the back of my yard. I had one of these saws by a different maker but it was not battery operated and needed a really long extension cord to use which I have discovered is a MAJOR hassle. Thankfully I had this battery one by Dewalt and got the job done easily. The price recently dropped by a 1/3 so it now under a $100 and totally worth it. Finally, FYI the mechanism for switching saws out is much better and more versatile than my other saw.

Very functional
Can’t compare to anything as this is my first rec. saw. I ran it with 5Ah aftermarket battery and finished the job with original 2Ah battery. Needed to cut 3x4s to size and then L shape join between them, 9 pieces in total. This tool made it easy and quick. Joins are not 100%, but close enough. I had no help on the project so many times had to operate the saw with one hand while holding material with the other. It is possible to achieve precision, but it would take longer and would require a helper or clamping system which I did not have. Overall I am happy for the price, the tool suits its purpose and is powerful enough to work with tough materials.

CAN’T BE BEAT!!! The BOSS of ALL Reciprocating Saws!
So I have to say that I’m a HUGE Fan of ALL the DeWalt 20 Volt Cordless tools. NO, I am NOT being paid to post my reviews! I build Movie Sets, many of them way out On Location, and under construction well before the Film Crew arrives; so the Art Department brings along a Generator for the Set Construction Crew. That means an inevitable tangled mess of “stingers” (extension cords) like spaghetti… and a side-by-side collection of various battery chargers next to the “Jenny” … Years ago I had a 9.6 Makita screw gun; then had (and quickly gave away) some Ryobi tools; then graduated up to DeWalt cordless 18Volt tools… but right after using their 20 Volt Max tools, I gave those 18V tools to my grandson. Anyway, this “Saber-Saw” it is just as 100% Bad-@$$ as are all of their other 20V Max cordless tools! The 20V Battery lasts all day and this Saw is nuthin’ short of downright AWESOME! I take it along with me on my ALL jobsites; right there with my 20V Screw Gun & Drill; 20V Circular Saw; 20V Grinder; 20V 90* angel Drill and all my other DeWalt hand tools. Stanley & Craftsman used to be my favorites… not any more. If you’re a Boomer, you’ll remember the old Timex watch Ads on TV: “Takes a beating… and keeps on Ticking!” DeWalt should buy that trademarked phrase, because in a nutshell, it sums them up to a “T” !

This is a tool you need
The price was good and fair.This is a very useful tool not just construction but also for use in the garden. You may not need it often but when you do, it works to save the day.I also own two other saws (corded) and this one can keep up with the other commercial “saws all” saws.

It vibrates a lot
It works fine but it vibrates aggressively. It is fine for short periods but I would not want to have to use it for extended periods of time.
