Simple computer
I don’t do gaming so this computer works great. I can use my Cricut and do my studies all in this with out an issue. It’s not going to be the quickest computer, but, for the price I can’t complain.It’s light weight and easy for travel. It connects to my hot spot/Bluetooth nicely no issues.

Nicer Than Expected
So Hubby has needed a laptop for a good minute. We usually buy his refurbished bc he doesn’t use a computer as much as I do. A #TB hard drive and top-shelf or even mid-level graphics card would be wasted on him, but he does need a laptop to access work files from home and general computer tomfoolery.So his last system was a refurb/open box Lenovo Ideapad, 4g RAM, and 1T hard drive. We got it from BestBuy Outlet a few years ago. It was so nice I told my sister about it and she got the same one.Fast forward to last December and the age was showing. I think the manufacture date is 2019, and it’s showing the age. I was using it for work (WFH) bc he didn’t need it. But then he DID need it so I had to go to a backup until he got me a desktop (see review).The BB Lenovo was slow, so very slow it was like Chinese water torture. Booting it up took time, yeah, 2-5 minutes depending on its mood. I’m not talking from shutdown. I mean from sleep/hibernation to lock screen to desktop. Painfully slow, so we needed to upgrade him. We couldn’t shell out a lot of money for it, though, so I went shopping.This system has good storage for him. He doesn’t take enough pix or do enough browsing to need more than 512G so the extra 128G is just gravy. The 12G RAM is a major step up and he’s no longer grumbling about how slow his computer is.Yay.I’m a little jelly. This thing is sleek. At this price, we could afford to grab another. I just got a gamer desktop, though (see review!) so it’s not practical.Pros: See abovePlus: That card slot is a good thing since it doesn’t have a CD/DVD tray at all (see pic).The camera cover/lock is NICE (see pic). I always tape a little paper over webcams but there’s no need with this.One of the USB ports is a USB-C (see pic), which is nice since things seem to be moving that way.I thought I was settling for the 15.6″ screen but it’s not as small as I thought it would be. My desktop system monitors are 22 and 24 inches respectively and my last laptop was 17″, so 15″ feels small to me until I actually see it.As stated: Hubby doesn’t care. This laptop is the same size as his old one and even the same manufacturer, so yeah. He’s good.Cons:No disc tray. Anything he needs to physically add has to be on an SD card, thumb drive, or downloaded. Please note: Hubby doesn’t care.For my geeky/gamer heart, it’s not nearly enough HD space, but for Hubby it’s perfect.The preinstalled bloatware insists on being used even when you uninstall it, but isn’t it always?Minimal ports. I need way more USB ports and no ethernet is a deal breaker for me.Caveat: This laptop isn’t for me, since I have a gaming/work desktop system. Hubby doesn’t care about this at all, so it’s just a “that would be nice” thing.Anyway, I like this machine a lot. It’s light and clean and a fantastic value for the price. I think it will serve Hubby well.9/10 would recommend.

Windows 11 S mode won’t let you load any new apps outside of the Microsoft Store!!
What a nightmare! This thing came set up with S mode, and nobody – not Microsoft, Lenovo, or Amazon – can get it out of S mode. I can’t even load Lenovo diagnostics and registration software. I am giving Microsoft a 3rd try today, but if they fail, this laptop is OUT! I will return it and try to order something that is not configured with S mode. However, there was NOTHING in the item description that told me the operating system was set up in S mode, so wish me luck.

They installed the OS on the wrong drive
I was unable to install more than one or two apps before it was telling me I was out of space. Turns out that the OS was installed on the 128GB drive instead of the 512GB drive. I had to use Macrium Reflect to migrate it to the other drive, and then purchase another app to adjust the partitions. Altogether a pain in the butt, however, I was in the middle of setting it up for use, so I didn’t want to wait for a replacement. I did see one other reviewer had the same issue. Once things were corrected, it seems like an ok laptop.

Great deal at this price point
Needed a new laptop and after doing some research, I found that Lenovo has somevery decent reviews so I decided to them it a try. Have only had it for two daysbut so far no complaints. Much better deal than I could have received purchasing one of the morewidely know names which were selling at the same price. For my to have gone with one of theother more popular brands with 12gb of ram, 500+ gb SDD drive, mini SD card reader and 3 USB ports, the price would have been much higher.Build quality looks excellent as is the response of the keyboard. One note though which is in no way a minus for Lenovo, even though the description says it ships with Win 11 Home, it actually has Win 11 home in S mode. Not a big deal but just wanted to mention it. Only took a few minutes to set it to nonS mode but this should be noted on the listing.One other point for those who like to connect their systems via ethernet cable, this unit, much like othersat this price point, does not have an ethernet port so, I purchased Anker ethernet to USB adapters from Amazon and they work great.Will update if it has hiccups long term but, so far, I would have zero problems recommending Lenovoto others.

IN A CONTINUOUS LOOP right out of the box.
I received this laptop this afternoon. I have never used a Lenovo. It can’t boot. It asks some basic questions, asks me to select Next, spins and spins, briefly shows a Lenovo logo, spins some more, then returns to the questions. Over and over and over againI I plan to return it. Seems to be agonizingly slow, too. That may be the problem.

Take Windows off of S mode and the system is a nice change from Windows 10 allowing for the addition of apps into the system. The hardware works as expected and the seller is efficient and conscientious about communicating with their customers.

I am very happy with this unit. One minor annoyance was it came shipped in “S” mode, meaning you have to go to the app store to turn it off in order to load Chrome or any non-Microsoft store app.

Very Very Slow.
A very poor product for being a Lenovo. It was so slow I could click it on at least 10 times before it would response. Could not get it to run with a mouse like most laptops. I love Lenovo but this one is not for me. I did buy another one after about 4 hours of trying this one. I always have had Lenovo for over twenty years.

This is, as one reviewer recognized, one of THE ABSOLUTE SLOWEST machines I’ve ever worked with (and I’ve had literally dozens of computers over the years). It was a good enough price, so I thought I’d give it a try. Honestly, I wish I hadn’t. It’s fine for Microsoft applications (Word. Excel, PPT, etc). They are work just fine (speed is no issue). The internet is an entirely different story. It is crazy how long it takes some pages to load. This review asked me about a touch screen… which is strange, cause this didn’t have one (maybe I really got jipped?). At any rate, there’s better products out there… keep looking.

Not 100% Pleased With It
This laptop is OK for basic work, but I think mine has some minor quirks (Number Lock comes on occasionally without me touching it, for example). I was in need of a laptop quickly and did not shop around maybe as much as I should have. I cannot necessarily recommend it but I cannot give it a negative review either.

Battery Life Unacceptable
Bought this to take notes / perform online testing.Two Microsoft Edge tabs and OneNote open after two hours and thirty minutes of class, the battery life went from 99% to 41%, the reason why I monitored it was because the first day of class I went in with a fully charged battery and after afew hours I had received a warning that the battery was low.Totally unacceptable, I could see it if I was streaming, gaming, etc, but a brand new laptop using minimal resources should not go through battery life that quickly.

Touch pad does not work
Touch pad did not work when I received it. Contacted Lenovo support and was able to get it working for a few days. After contacting Lenovo support numerous times, they recommended I send it in for service. I can not afford to be without a computer for two weeks so they suggested I return it to Amazon. I started this process only to find out I COULD be charged up to 60% restocking, missing parts, scratches or damaged fees plus pay for the shipping. Since the computer works with a mouse I have chosen to live with this condition rather then risking up to half the original cost. Amazon and PCOnline customer service SUCKS!

Garbage product, incompetent service
I bought this product about a week ago and it died yesterday, it just went out in the middle of what I was doing. It wasn’t overheated, it was plugged in the whole time I owned it, and it hadn’t been damaged. I called service and the people who didn’t hang up on me (that happened 4 times) went through the same step of holding down the power button to get rid of static or whatever. One of the people did have me hold down the little button on the side but that was no better. The graphics on the machine were OK but any visual movement (on even the simplest games) was very jerky. Nobody at service had any suggestions on retrieving a week’s worth of lost work from the hard drive. I had had a similar experience with Lenovo before but I thought it was just bad luck; I was wrong. The machine is clearly defective (though the fingerprint scanner was pretty nifty) and the Lenovo service department is useless; I guess they figured that if they hung up on me enough times that I would give up, or maybe they just don’t know how to operate a telephone. Now I have to redo a week’s worth of work unless I want to open it up and void my warranty. Lenovo is worse than useless and I obviously won’t give them a third chance. I wonder what they’ll think when they open the return box and see the lights still flashing (though I haven’t had time to rate the battery). I can’t turn them off without a hammer.

I love Lenovo
This is my 4th Lenovo laptops and it might be my last. THIS laptop included Windows 11 and Windows 11 it totally unusable. It won’t allow any application to be downloaded and installed that is not approved by Microsoft. My preferred browser, my preferred email client, my preferred word processor — all are essential to my personal and business lives and are simply not useable on this laptop. I had to return it.

Garbage
Do not buy this laptop. It take 5 minutes for it to catch up when simply click the calendar in the bottom right hand side of the screen. I have tried everything to optimize its speed but nothing works. It took 48hrs just to get it to download all of the updates just to be able to see the desktop screen. And still, it lags with every click.
