Awesome quality and most valuable solution for streaming!
I just regret not having reacted earlier and bought my Amazon fire stick a long time ago, instead of paying for a cable subscription unnecessarily. The HD picture quality is sharp crisp and despite response to the commands not being as fast as cable (showing some micro-second slags with the remote) that seems to be only a very minor inconvenience, almost unnoticeable. You will get a stable signal as long as your internet service enjoys a reliable connection as well. The set up was a breeze and very straightforward and I love the minimalist design parameters of the remote, very sleek and intuitive and all you need at a simple click of your fingertips. There is obviously a learning curve into changing to full streaming services but is more about the learning experience to navigate the app and getting acquainted with the remote, getting familiar with the apps you’d like to keep and avoid getting lured into acquiring new pay streaming services unnecessary for your needs or preferences. Beware, the current streaming offer seems to be enormous, so I can see it might take you some time just organizing your preferences. The fire TV will let you organize access into separate user profiles and establishing parental controls or limited access accordingly. Overall, it proves to be a simple solution for quality streaming services at a very convenient price and a definite good bye to my regrets for paying inflated cable tv services!

Can replace some cable boxes…better engineered product at significant cost savings
I have used Fire Sticks for quite a while. Recently I learned that the peripheral cable boxes for Xfinity could be replaced with Fire Sticks and the Xfinity app. Since they charge a monthly fee for all of these boxes it is a significant cost savings per year once the cost of the Fire Stick is deducted. It is also a more streamlined installation (see photo of cable box installation on the left compared with Fire Stick for same service on the right). A third advantage is the durability, ease of operation, and responsiveness of the Fire Stick compared with the Xfinity remotes. We found that we were regularly replacing the Xfinity remotes and that newer versions did not have codes that allowed the remotes to control on-off or volume on the television. Fire Sticks have never caused that problem. The end result is a better engineered product at a significant cost savings.

We have switched from Roku to FireTV for all of our devices
While the device works great for streaming, it still has room for improvement. We first started with Roku devices. Over time though, Roku devices basically stop working. They stop being supported, and even though they may have worked fine for years, you can no longer update them or install software, even old versions, so you have to throw them away. So, we tried firetv sticks. The first generation was rough, but they have come along way. For media streaming and app coverage, they really can’t be beat….. but….We love that they are tied into Amazon, but also hate that they are tied into Amazon. It never lets you forget that its primary job is to let Amazon sell stuff to you and its secondary job is to be your streaming device. What do I mean by this? Well, it really likes to put you back on Amazon’s homescreen as much as possible, and when you are in Amazon’s homescreen, you are presented with the content you have paid for, but also a lot of content Amazon would like to sell to you. I really only want to see the content I have already paid for. For example, if you are watching something on MAX, or Netflix, and you pause the program, if you unpause it quick enough, it will just pick up where you left off. However, if you wait to long, you will find yourself back at Amazon’s homescreen asking you to tell it which user profile to use. Well, unless I tell it otherwise, shouldn’t I be the same person I was when I hit pause? Shouldn’t I want to continue watch what I was watching when I hit pause? Once you select a profile, you are back to Amazon’s homescreen where the show you ads for services they want to sell you, when all you really wanted to do was resume what you were watching when you hit pause. So then, you have to remember… what was I watching again? And what service was it I was watching it on? And then you have to navigate back to wherever it was you were and then and only then can you resume. So other than that, the device is great. I wish there was a way I could just pay a fee like you can on the kindle, to alter this behavior so its primary function is to be my streaming device, instead of to show me ads. This also becomes a problem if you have guests or visitors that don’t understand this is how an Amazon device works. We didn’t have a password set on the device and we had an older house guest that unknowingly subscribed to all sorts of streaming services and pay per view not realizing what they saw on the TV was not in our services, even though we already subscribe to more services than you could ever possibly watch.Lastly, the stick periodically has little flukes. Like we have the remote set to turn on the tv. One time, it wouldn’t turn on the tv anymore. It turned out, it seemed to be turning it on, but then turning it right back off. Like when you hit the button once, it was sending the on off signal more than once. Unplugging the stick and plugging it back in seemed to fix it and then we could turn the tv on again. It happened in the opposite direction too. One time, we couldn’t turn the tv off. We would press the button and it would turn off and then it would turn right back on again. Same as before, a reboot seemed to fix it. This doesn’t happen often, but it is annoying when it does.As for Alexa integration, it usually works well, but sometimes, it just stops working. All of a sudden telling Alex to pause just doesn’t work anymore. It just doesn’t do anything. Doesn’t tell you there is a problem or anything, so you have to go find the remote, even though you have paused it that way 100 times before. The wanting to take you through the advertising screens is a problem with the Alexa integration as well. You can’t say “Alexa watch some movie on some service” and get taken to that movie. No, no, it is first going to want to know who you are, so you get to the profile selection screen. I should be the same person I was last time, unless I have logged out for some reason. Selecting a profile still doesn’t get you to where you asked to go, it gets you to the Amazon advertising center. So then, you have to repeat yourself “Alexa watch some movie on some service”, and then, and only then, will it do what you asked it to do in the first place. So the device, is great. But it is my device, and should focus on my needs more than Amazon’s, but it doesn’t. That is its only flaw.

Great Resources Got Me Up and Running Well
I was totally flummoxed with a dysfunctional EVO PRO streaming device and was greatly relieved to get the Fire Stick to replace it. Took a little research to get it working with my sound bar but now all the functions are working smoothly (ute, volume, etc.). The remote is easy to learn, friendly to use and seems pretty sturdy. The device is nearly invisible plugged into the back of my TV. Have not delved into the Alexa voice control yet. So, initial impression after 2 days is very positive. Easy to set up and great on line resources to solve problems. Very satisfied so far and hope my Fire Stick keeps working well.

Great Prodcut – Needs some new features
Let me prequalify this review stating that I have been an Amazon Firestick and Fire TV and Fire TV Recast user almost since they’ve first come out. I’ve purchased about 20 of these over my lifetime so far, so I have considerable experience with them. So my requests are probably not beginner requests but things I’ve noticed over time. There are a few crucial features I think should be added to Firestick to make them a game-changing option.1) The faster processing when changing menues. The firstick is great but becomes sluggish over time. Short of a full factor reset it would be nice to have a way to clear and manage memory better. Also optimized screen display with perhaps text placeholders before images are displayed. Sometimes the menus take up to 20-50 seconds to come up.2) Pictue-in-Picture mode. It would be a great addition to allow picture in picture so you can be previewing a local news channel, youtube or other live content while watching a movie.3) Multi-screen capability to be able to connect multiple HDMI devices or synchronize between firestick devices for a single control point. An example of this would be where video has extended content, displayed it on a second screen. Or create a multi-screen wide-screen for a panorama effect.4) Skill panels as an extensible video overlay. For example, have skills for different overlay tasks suck as a SmartHome panel or Stock Ticker panel that you can enable to overlay on a box on the screen or along the bottom ticker.5) Internal Volume – the ability to control volume directly from the Firestick device for those TVs or sound bars that do not easily integrate with the remote. This is especially handy when streaming the audio via the HDMI output.

Should Have Bought This Years Ago
This is so easy to setup and use, I wish I got this years ago. I’ll be honest, and I feel a bit foolish admitting this, but: Despite hearing about the Fire TV stick’s existence for years, I never considered it because I thought there was a monthly fee! I didn’t want to pay for anything beyond my subscriptions, so I never even read the details. I put my television in a box in the attic when I ‘cut the cord’ with my cable company in 2012 and it’s been there ever since. I’ve been watching ‘TV’ on my desktop PC or on my Kindle. This worked well enough for years, but during the pandemic I began spending a lot more time streaming shows and despite replacing my desk chair with a more comfortable chair, it just wasn’t ergonomic and became more and more uncomfortable, so I needed to reconsider my TV setup. Enter the Fire Stick! This time I read the details – and then re-read them, and then Youtubed videos about it, because I couldn’t believe it really didn’t cost anything per month! You just buy the stick and plug it in and that’s it?! Yep!So here’s a few noteworthy points: First, it does not use USB; I saw this pop up in the questions for this product quite a bit. Technically the wall adapter plugs into the included USB cord – just like your kindle charger, etc. But there’s no USB needed for the actual television end, it uses an HDMI port and that’s it. Interestingly, I almost didn’t get it because I was sure the TV I bought back in 2009 wouldn’t have an HDMI port, but I finally went up to the attic to check and sure enough, it has one! So be sure your TV has an HDMI port, that’s required.Setup was ridiculously easy. Just attach the items in the box together and plug it into the HDMI port on the back of your TV and then plug the other end into a wall outlet. That’s it! Then turn the TV on and the setup will walk you through the rest, signing you into your Amazon account, calibrating the included remote control, updating (several times), choosing streaming apps to start with, etc. It’s all very simple. If you want to watch paid streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, etc you must have a paid subscription to them. But there’s other services/apps such as Pluto TV and others that are totally free and have a decent variety of ad-supported content, both shows and movies as well as news. And Amazon’s apps are of course there, like Amazon Music and Prime Video (if you subscribe to Prime Video). I only have Hulu and Prime Video currently as paid subscriptions, but there’s plenty of free content to supplement. In fact, I even have my local news which surprised me (they must stream on a live app and I never realized it).So basically, it aggregates various paid and free streaming apps to one place and this little stick presents them all in one nice looking interface, letting you use your remote to choose programming, just like TV. To be clear, the Fire TV stick runs off your wifi signal, so be sure you have wifi at home. On one hand it doesn’t give you anything you can’t get without it, but on the other hand, the convenience of having it all accessible in one place is fantastic and makes it feel like I’m getting all kinds of new content. Some of the apps I’ve never even heard of, so there is new-to-me content in that regard. The interface is excellent and fairly intuitive, and the remote works great. I am super glad I opted for the Fire TV stick option that comes with the remote that also has TV controls like volume and mute, so I can do it all with the remote that came with it. Now I can sit in my living room like a normal person and watch TV (streaming services) comfortably from my couch; I should have got this years ago.Just be sure you have:1. A TV with an HDMI port2. Wifi at home3. OPTIONAL: Paid services if you want to watch Hulu, Netflix, etc. Otherwise you can still use this to access free content.

Say Goodbye to Roku!
I have used various roku devices for the past 10+ yrs to meet all my streaming needs. However, I had run into a few issues w my roku device about a month ago bc quite a few apps(most notably Prime Video) had completely stopped working, and other than scouring their community forums to troubleshoot my roku device, customer support was nearly non-existent(my device was an older model and did not qualify for tech support). The absolute frustration i felt after purchasing a 4k roku stick and a Roku 4k Ultra and finding out that neither were compatible with my older smart tv, I decided to explore other options. I landed on the Amazon Firestick(their most current basic model) after reading lots of reviews on the device. It was also important that whatever device I chose had to have a robust customer support portal to quickly and easily handle any issues that may come up. The Firestick checked all the boxes! Now, compared to my roku express, the user interface is a bit less intuitive on the Firestick, but I had a good understanding of it after spending about a half hour exploring settings, etc. One HUGE benefit of the firestick is that you can open up a browser and sideload 3rd party apps that aren’t available in app store. With the roku express that option wasn’t available to me(though it may be different w newer roku models, it wasn’t a feature mine had). So, maybe the firestick is a bit less user friendly than roku, but navigating through all my options, adjusting and personalizing my settings and app preferences took under an hour before I felt completely comfortable using and maximising all the benefits of my amazon firestick…oh! And I love love love that the remote is alexa enabled and will pair w my echo dot! I know newer roku models have voice activated remotes, but my cheapo and years old roku express did not! Even the most basic firestick has the voice activated remote control! Haven’t really experienced any cons yet, but I’ll update if I do!

Love
It’s so great not needing a bunch of remotes. Makes it so much more simple. I like that it’s slim and not bulky.I wish it had an imput button to change it over for video games. It would also be awesome if it had a back light when you touch it so you can see the buttons at night. Overall makes my life simpler.

Easy To Setup
I purchased my first fire stick on marketplace and I received it so I decided to order another one from Amazon and the price was right. In 2018 I purchased a Roku stick from Amazon and it’s still working but it’s almost 6 years old in August. I was wondering what different channels I would receive with the fire stick and I searched with Google and the reviews of customers of Amazon. I was skeptical but I’m glad I purchased the fire stick. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND…. Another thing, the fire stick will cut your TV off and turn it up and down and that’s a BONUS….. THE ONLY minor thing is opening the battery compartment…….. I AM WELL PLEASE!!!!!

Great way to add streaming to my 2006 vintage TV set.
Not all TV’s support streaming. Effortlessly added streaming to a 2006 vintage Panasonic TV. I configured the WiFi connection for Internet access only, not Intranet for security reasons. Also allowed me to stream DirecTV which I already have a subscription for.

I had no idea…
I always hated the fire stick remote because it did not do the very basic things like control volume. I had no idea there were different generations of this thing. Apparently I had the first, which explains a LOT. Everything works significantly better, from the picture quality on my TV to the remote. I am just kicking myself for not realizing the problem sooner. I literally increased my Internet speed thinking that was the issue a year ago. I must be reaching that boomer age range lol

Great purchase
I am so happy we bought this firestick. Cable is basically unaffordable at this point. We finally cut the cord but we don’t have a smart TV, and antenna TV leaves a lot to be desired especially when you have kids. There’s so much content available for free. I’ve had it for a few weeks and still haven’t explored everything available to us. We went with the firestick over roku simply because the firestick is cheaper with better options, in my opinion. Able to throttle data useage. Helpful with 50 gb montly cap.
Living in a rural area, good internet is hard to find. Now using hotspot on a cell phone dedicated to internet access. Data cap is 50gb per month. Data speeds vary between 2mb/s to 20mb/s. The fire stick has tunable settings that have allowed me to stream at a rate of 200-220mb/hr while getting a sharp picture and full sound, with no buffering. A data usage monitor allows you to see the amount of data used by streaming in real time. Roku has none of this. Now with the fire stick we can stream four times more content than before and stay within the data cap. This works to reduce data on the major streaming services as well.and all for $20. A real bargain.

A HUGE improvement on the previous generation of Amazon remotes
My bedroom Amazon Fire TV Stick was laggy as hell (especially with Disney+). So when I ungraded to this super inexpensive upgraded version I had modest expectations. But this new stick has improved the streaming quality tremendously. Screens load very quickly and I get almost no lag even on Disney+.My only quibble are the four preset buttons at the bottom of the remote. They’re redundant because the services are readily available on the home screen. So the remote does feel a bit cluttered. That’s a minor drawback on this otherwise amazing remote.Would highly recommend.

Love It!
I have had Fire TV and the Alexa remote for years. I could never use the remote to turn the TV on or adjust the volume. When the remote was new, there was something small shaking sound around inside. I do not like to send things back, so I just put up with it and used 2 remotes. The back of the remote finally would not stay on so I bought this one. I am so glad I did because I can now turn the TV on and off as well as adjust the volume. I love it!

Replaced old Firestick and it’s so much better!
I bought this firestick as a replacement for an old model. I didn’t realize how bad the old was until I started using the new – the remote works beautifully, and the stream is good. It was easy to set up and link to Alexa. We’re able to stream the YES app and watched Spring Training games through the stick versus mirroring the stream from my phone. Welcome to 2024! I wish I had updated the firestick sooner!

Works very well but it is missing one important feature
This Firestick works very well. I bought it to replace an old firestick that failed. I was using the old firestick with a Sofabaton F2 remote to provide the TV controls. I thought that the remote for this firestick could replace the Sofabaton, but it is missing the ability to switch inputs, so I still need a separate remote to go back to regular TV. While the Sofabaton is not designed to hold this version of firestick remote, the Sofabaton housing is flexible enough that you can attach the Firestick remote by putting one side under the clips and then pressing on the other side to snap it in place. If it needs to be removed just use a table knife to gently pry the clips free on one side. I bought a second Firestick for another room but bought the Firestick Lite and installed it a Sofabaton TV remote.

It’s a Fire Stick. You know what it is.
Fire stick, Roku stick, apple tv….all are wonderful and every home should have one of these!I got this for my mother’s room in memory care. She has dementia but still loves to watch her favorite show (Shark Tank) and old movies like It’s a Wonderful Life. I wish there were a dementia-friendly TV remote she could use. Such remotes exist but they only work with cable TV or over the air channels. For this reason alone my mother needs a private aide, which is a rather expensive substitute for a sensible, elder-friendly remote! If Amazon would come up with one of those, or enable an existing one like Flipper to work with the Fire stick, I’d be thrilled.

Excellent Product!
Don’t confuse a full Amazon Fire TV Stick with a dummy ‘firefly’ replacement remote – no comparison. I don’t know where the ‘fire fly’ knock offs are made, I can guess but I’ll be politically correct and just say they are absolutely useless. I spent $10 on hauling returns to various amazon store outlets after spending 5-7 hours trying to get a ‘firefly’ thang to work. Just buy this one instead for a few bucks more! It only took 10 minutes to have it up and running and getting all my smart tv apps to install. I am a huge fan of the Fire TV Sticks – and a firefly hater!

Cut the Cord with Ease, But Mind the Processor Speed
I recently purchased this product with the main goal of cutting the cable cord, and it did not disappoint. The setup process was incredibly straightforward, making it accessible for anyone regardless of tech-savviness. However, if you’re a bit more knowledgeable about tech, you’ll find that this device offers ample opportunities for customization, which I found to be a significant plus. The device allows for the installation and use of numerous apps, which is great for tailoring your viewing experience to your preferences. However, it’s worth noting that as you add more apps and the device gets busier, you might notice a slowdown. When the processor is under heavy load, the performance can become noticeably sluggish, which can be a bit of a drawback if you’re someone who likes to have multiple apps running simultaneously.Despite this, I would still highly recommend this product to anyone looking to move away from traditional cable services. It offers a user-friendly interface, the freedom to customize your viewing experience, and the convenience of having all your favorite streaming services in one place. Just be mindful of the potential for decreased performance with heavy use, and plan your app usage accordingly.Overall, I’m giving this product 4 out of 5 stars. It’s a solid choice for cutting the cord, provided you can manage the occasional slowdowns when pushing its limits.

Good streaming device for older TVs
Easy to install on my TV set. I have been unable to sync this device with the iPhone app (app says it cannot detect the device). I haven’t investigated a solution because I really don’t need it. Other than that, installation was smooth. Setting up my streaming apps went smoothly. Remote response is very good. I wish the remote had number buttons, but I’m not sure many streaming apps support that. Quality is very good. Device is easier to use than some other devices, but it still can be difficult to navigate between the various apps and media types.

Got rig of cable!
We were paying $239.00 for cable and internet and we mostly streamed because the commercials are annoying. After installing the fire stick we get all our streaming channels and if you have Prime video you get cable channels so this was a valuable investment. We will save over $2000.00 per year. Thank you

Glad we finally “cut the cord”
The Firestick is super easy to set up and install. Literally walks you three steps and you’re streaming hundreds of channels. Wish we had switched over a long time ago! If you are still paying for cable TV, cut that cord and get a Fire Stick for all your TVs

Many functions
This Fire Stick can connect to multiple Bluetooth devices and is compatible with your TV’s volume and power. Gives free access to Tubi, Freevid and other free entertainment apps.I haven’t tried it, but I bet it can probably hook up to Bluetooth speakers and can definitely take other remotes.

My TV works again
We had an old firestick and for the last few months there was no point trying to watch anything as it lagged so bad and audio didn’t sync or would just keep disconnecting . I thought it was our internet, tried all the suggestions and then read the older versions weren’t updating well so decided why not? Got this and all issues GONE! So happy to be able to watch TV again. Option to just copy over what my old one had as far as log in profiles, and what we had viewed, saved, watching, etc so seamlessly switched over. Uninstalled some of the apps we wouldn’t use and ready to go. Love that on/off, volume and shortcuts all on one remote, we are enjoying TV again finally.

Garbage waste of money
It’s 3 months old and won’t even turn on now. I complained that it was sucking batteries weekly when it was a month old. Amazon said it needed an update until it was no longer eligible for a replacement. I went with Apple this time. I’m done with Amazon products forever.

Useful in certain situations
I’ve got plenty of Android-based set-top boxes around here. Since the Fire Stick is frequently offered at a steep discount, I decided to buy one just to see how it compares. The small size and direct-plugin to an HDMI connector are definite advantages. And the Stick became unexpectedly useful when I took it on a recent business trip, and was able to plug it into the TV in my hotel room – watched my usual streaming shows without additional fees or having to type my personal credentials into the apps on the TV (ugh). Some quick downsides? The Stick is powered by an external USB connection and this might not be easily available at the rear of your TV without cabling or a power strip. The user interface is slow, ugly, and very wasteful of screen space, with zero possibilities for customization. The CPU in the Stick seems lightweight (never bothered to look it up) and operations including stream acquisition are slow compared to bigger STB’s with heftier CPU’s. If you can get a Stick that’s well-discounted (as they often are) it’s a good value.

Set up was awful
The Fire Stick itself is awesome. But it’s supposed to be an “idiot proof“ set up that anybody can do. I think the instructions would benefit from saying from the very beginning that the remote should pair automatically. It eventually says that in the troubleshooting section, but it should mention that in the main so that people like me don’t think they have to do it. Also, our remote never did pair on its own. I ended up having to use the old remote from the old Fire Stick until my teenager got home and had to do some back door non-idiot way to pair it. Ha-ha! On the sidenote… I was smart enough to trick the new Fire Stick into accepting the old Fire Stick remote! Probably something most people can do but for me, I was pretty darn proud of myself!

Better than my old FireStick
My 6 year old Firestick stopped working recently. I checked Amazon for a newer model. I noticed Amazon had a special where if you return your old Firestick they will give a $3.00 gift card and once they receive it they give you 20% off the cost of a new Firestick. That sealed the deal for me and I bought this updated Firestick (Not 4k). It booted up right away and it showed that all my previous apps were stored in the cloud so I was able to redownload all my settings and apps just by clicking OK. This saved a lot of time with setup as I thought I would have to reinstall all my apps again. The new version is noticeably faster than the old model. The new remote has special keys to jump right to Prime and Netflix. One new feature which i really like is having the TV volume control on the Firestick remote. Overall I’m very satisfied and by using the 20% discount and $3.00 gift card from turning in my old (non-working) model, it’s a bargain.

Caught it On Sale!!
I’ve bought probably a half dozen Amazon Fire Sticks since 2017, it’s not that many since I have had 4 TV’s, I bought this one because one of my remotes grew legs and ran off, I scoured the house for 3 days, I am dumbfounded as to where it went, so I checked Amazon and caught a new fire stick and remote on sale for 19 dollars and change, so I jumped on it, I think with all the abuse from dropping it and so on, they are worth the money, I only stream with the Amazon Fire Sticks, and am happy with their performance and reliability, definitely recommend.

Easy as Pie
I have a smart TV but turns out it was older than I thought and I was unable to download my new streaming service (You Tube TV). I ordered up an the Fire Stick and it arrived in one day. Easy to install I may have been a little naive when I ordered it as I assumed that the fire stick would get the power it need from the HDMI port that I plugged it into but that was not the case. The Firestick has a power supply that needs to be plugged into 110 outlet so be aware. Luckily, my outlet is behind the TV on the wall so it is not visible. Very easy to use. I was up and running in minutes. Highly recommend. The Amazon remote has essentially replaced my TV remote and it is small and simple and very user friendly

I purchased a new Smart TV for my Mom. This was part of the reason.
The Firestick does have it’s advantages but it is a hole for invasive people. My Mom was spending too much money for cable TV.She barely watches TV and just saved $225 per month on cable TV. Not spending money is saving money, right? The Firestick does give you options for what she likes to watch.Mainly the Food Network is her favorite. She doesn’t need these because she is an excellent cook and could be a great Chef. However, she truly enjoys the different cooking shows. She’s 82 and cooks dinner virtually every day.The Smart TV and Firestick are far less expensive than the amount she was spending on cable TV.Mom’s are Mom’s regardless of their age!!

Exactly what I was looking for!
I recently got a projector and wanted to get a Firestick, as I cannot connect anything else to it (and can’t get regular TV on it either), and it was perfect! This is the first time buying a Firestick for myself and I absolutely love it. It’s so easy to use, and there are so many apps that you can download on it to stream music, movies, etc. I have yet to use the voice recognition, but otherwise the remote works great and you can also adjust volume on it. Highly recommend and I would buy another one, if needed.

Comparable to an APPLE TV!
Overall an amazing product! Amazon thought of everything and then fit it all into this little gadget. I’m an owner of an Apple TV and when the streaming box of one of my TVs broke, I decided to give the Fire Stick a chance since I didn’t feel like dropping $100+ for another Apple TV. IT WAS THE BEST DECISION I’VE MADE. My initial impression of the Fire Stick was how tiny it was compared to the Apple TV. It wasn’t a huge, heavy box that I had to lug around whenever I traveled, even to the point where it became too big of a hassle to bring. Instead, the Fire Stick is small, 100% portable, and doesn’t weigh any more than a pen. So you can imagine how surprised I was when I found out that this little stick had more features and abilities than my Apple TV. The built-in Alexa is so much smarter than Siri and I love how it can switch between applications and do everything that an Alexa can do, the only big difference being that you have to click the Alexa button instead of being voice-activated (Maybe Amazon can add that feature). Installing it was super simple, all I had to do was plug it in and connect it to the power. The fire stick plugs into any HDMI port and if the stick is too long to fit in the HDMI section then you could use the provided HDMI extender which has a flexible cord. Again, Amazon thought of everything for this product. P.S. I must say that Amazon was super generous including the needed 2 AA batteries, a shock for big companies these days. The Fire Stick can turn any TV into a smart TV and add many features if you already have a smart TV. If you have an Amazon Prime subscription, you’ll get access to Prime Video and a LOT of news sources (I’m not sure about what it’ll be like without a Prime Subscription, sorry) But everyone can log into apps like Disney+, Hulu, Netflix, Youtube, and my new personal favorite, Spotify. My only concern with this product is how easy it is to lose the remote, especially if you’re a very forgetful person like I am. Amazon does have replacement remotes that they sell, one even has additional features like the ability to make the remote play a sound to locate it, but even the basic one can go for up to $20 which is more than half the price of what I paid for it. Also, a little tip, I noticed that this product specifically goes on huge sales from time to time so I recommend waiting if it currently isn’t on sale. The Fire Stick is truly an amazing product and in my opinion, it belongs in the top tier of streaming devices.
