TOUGHEST ICE CHEST IVE EVER SEEN
I’m a truck driver and I bought this so I could stop eating gas station food and have something tough that can hold ice awhile and keep groceries cold. In that department, it does really well! All night sitting and I drain about a quart of water on average. We’ll it sits behind my driver seat and I needed to pull off for a few hours nap the other night. I took it out and put it on the back of the cab which is just open. No rails or truck bed. Of course, I forget about it when I woke up a couple hours later and started driving. It made it about an hour back there without falling off. We’ll I was taking a hard right curve at about 65 miles an hour and we heard a loud thud followed by a scraping sound. Had no idea what the hell that was but when my girl noticed the empty space behind my seat, we knew what it was. Now this is about $100 of food that she prepped for the trip and I wasn’t going to let that go. We went back and I found it just like in the pictures. Damn thing slammed the ground and slid at 65mph on the highway into a guard rail and didn’t open up, nothing inside broke, and it just got a little scuffed. Sucked that it messed up one of the handles and I gotta live with that now, but wow! It’s stupid-proof. When I get another ice chest for my boat next season, i’m definitely buying an arctic.

Quality made
We have been looking at coolers for a while and this was on sale and we were very pleased to find it. I found it both on the Arctic site and the Amazon site and I had a gift card to Amazon so I chose to buy it there but I did buy the insert that goes with it that you can freeze and a basket from the Arctic site cuz it was cheaper. I haven’t used it yet but it looks like it’s going to be wonderful.

This is a great item….
I was driving to Colorado to visit my son… I wanted to take him meat and veggies out of the freezer. Wasn’t sure it they would stay cold… Well they DID!!!!! I put in the meat and veggies and poured in 3 bags of ice… 3 days later when I got to Colorado the entire inside was one frozen hunk… The meat and veggies were just as frozen as the day I put them in.. This is a great product… I’ve had lots of Coolers before …none of them performed like RTIC… In the past I would always have to stop and empty the thawed water and add more Ice…. not this time… Worth the little bit of extra money….

A MUST buy
I want to say I bought this cooler as an early Father’s Day gift for my husband, for his landscaping company. However I am going to have to be honest and say after having to fill in with him when he needed help, I 100% bought this cooler for me.Let me set the scene. North Carolina, June 9, 2022, 10:00, already swamp butt heat (90°). Old school beat up cooler in the bed of the truck with one bag of ice. By 13:00, ice was gone. By 17:30 water was warm. 19:30 I NEEDED cold water and there was none to be found. That night I ordered the RTIC.The following Wednesday we had the RTIC cooler loaded, 2 bags of ice, 12 bottle waters, a case of cokes, and ready for the day. 93° day and the cooler set out in the sun ALL. DAY. By 20:00 there was still ice, but it didn’t look like it was going to make it for the entire day. The next morning all the ice was gone, however the water was still ice cold. Husband is convinced we are sending the cooler back, but I am still standing my ground, we’re keeping it.Fast forward to Sunday…and me completely forgetting about the cooler, with it’s cokes and waters, still sitting in the back of the truck. I randomly walk out to get something out of the bed, see it, and decide to reach in and see how it looking…..y’all …. COLD WATER. Like out of a refrigerator cold.We had some near record high temps in NC this past week. Wednesday 95°, Thursday 96°, Friday 97°. This cooler held its own. I was beyond impressed that the drinks are as cold as the are. The husband has completely changed his mind and wants to keep the cooler…. and now we’re fighting over who’s cooler it actually is.10 out of 10, this cooler understands the assignment.

Holds ice well
Bought this cooler for my husband and he loved it. We filled the cooler with one 10lb bag of ice and we had ice for 3 days at least. This cooler is very convenient and easy to bring along where ever you may need it.

5 nights with 32lbs of ice
I am impressed. We loaded this cooler up with about 32 lbs of ice on a Tuesday night at 9pm and started driving to out camp around 130 am. After 13 hours of driving across multiple states we finally made it to our camp and loaded up the cooler with drinks. We had some food from the fridge sitting on top of the ice while we drove. There was minimal melting when we got to camp and the ice lasted until around Sunday night. We were also using some of the ice from drinks so it was depleting faster then if we were just keeping things cold. The shelf was a major life saver when the ice started melting. It kept all the food dry and out of the water, not to mention it kept the adhesive taste off the cans in the cooler. The center ice pack definitely helps keep things colder longer since its a giant sheet of ice. The double drain ports are also awesome, it made emptying out the water so much faster then our prior cooler. I would recommend this cooler for parties, camping trips or a day out on the boat. I was glad I had this cooler since the festival we were at was charging 10$ per 5lbs bag of ice (YIKES!)

Sturdy and light
This was accidental purchase lol but I will say this is a solid ice chest that’s durable and lightweight. Also comes with basket and divider that can also be frozen to help keep goods/drinks cold. We love this brand of coolers seems to keep ice a bit longer that Yeti in our opinion. We do music festivals and camping for about 4 days and RTIC is much better with retaining ice.Recommend putting ice chest in the house a day or two before use and put in frozen milk jug to get it cooler so your ice will last longer.

The right tool for the job
Very happy with this cooler in terms of design. I am using it inside a teardrop trailer with sliding pull out so I wanted something with drains on both ends ! With my other cooler I had to put it in the wrong way so the door would open properly… and was forced to haul it out to drain. Nice feature RTIC thanks! This cooler will spend it’s entire life in this drawer….so folks will not be sitting and standing on it and dragging it around in the dirt.. and it won’t be left out in direct sunlight. It’s heavy duty enough for most all recreational users I should think.. don’t see why a $400 cooler is really necessary to go to a campground…but I would indeed select the roto molded variety if I was a Guide or outfitter…or going on a serious expedition.

Great performance
My first quality cooler. Performs very well, loaded with a few bags of ice and ice packs and there were a few drops of melted water 2 days after. Not sure what to expect but I like it a lot!I see two small downsides. The rubber locks opens easily. I would like to have a little more force so I know the lid is kept down. The surface on sides are smooth and “shiny”. The top however is a bit roughened. I like the top better, every scratch is visible on the sides…

Wow ! This 52 Rtic is light compared to the older style. The basket and the divider sure make this cooler a lot easier to use .I usually pack hard salami and cheese and the basket sure comes in handy.Nothing worse then water soaked salami.I bought the white cooler the lighter the color the less heat is absorbed by sunlight.Touch a dark color cooler in direct sunlight and touch a white cooler in direct sunlight you’d be surprised in the difference.Ice really lasts along time. Now lm gonna buy the Rtic 48 for beverages and im all set ,light weight and easy to carry.

Perfect Size
This is the perfect size option for the one who needs it but never has a flat surface to roll it where needed most. However, it is big enough to hold supplies for four on a weekend outing or trip to the cabin. It is also light compared to others I have owned so you don’t need a fork lift to move it once it is packed. As for retaining the cold temp required for food it does an excellent job compared to the Styrofoam coolers and just as good as the Roto coolers. Hope this helps cause I wasn’t sure about it when I purchased it, but there is no doubt you will love it.

Although designed in Texas, it’s made in China
It’s a beautiful cooler. I do love it. No complaints. Although I was so disappointed when I saw “Made In China” on the box it came it. So sad that a Texas company like RTIC, can’t manufacture this in the USA.

Best ice chest for the money.
I put 20 lbs of ice in the RTC on Friday AM. There is still frozen ice on Wednesday. Six (6) days and counting. I am 89 years old, so, for me, it is not that light weight. But it’s the best ice chest I ever had. I ordered a second ice chest for my grandson who likes the basket compartment for meat, ice cream, etc. Best deal for the money. I thought the drain plug on my chest was leaking, but only needed tightening. Sadly, the leak at the same drain plug on BOTH ice chests cannot be repaired. I had to return both chests!

Love this cooler
We’ve had the other more expensive brand and RTIC did not disappoint! Needed a smaller more manageable size so we thought we’d try RTIC. 1st use – filled with frozen meat and drove in the hot hot summer heat for 10 hours – cooler was so full we couldn’t add ice. Got to destination – everything inside was still frozen solid like I’d just taken it out of the freezer. WIN!

This is the most Awesome cooler I have ever had!
I purchased this cooler for a specific use and it performed the job perfectly, it kept my frozen items frozen with no effort for 2 days even with out putting ice in it. When I was looking at coolers I looked at the Yeti and I decided to go with this one mostly because of the price point compared to the Yeti, but also because I know a little about the RTIC coolers and I am positive it is just as good as the Yeti for half the price and so far I am correct. If you need a strong performing cooler I highly suggest that you look close at this one I don’t think you will be disappointed.

It keeps ice.
Great product so. Tested it straight out of the box. Filled it up with ice. Locked it my truck. In the South Alabama heat for 38 hours. Retained approximately 1/4 of the ice. Average daytime highs of mid-90’s. Pretty pleased! Half the cost of a Yeti.

Just what we needed
I bought this cooler for my boyfriend as a Christmas present. We finally got around to having a use for it this past weekend at a music festival in southern Florida. It was in the 90’s all weekend and we kept the cooler in the shaded car with the windows cracked to keep it cool. The cooler is decently heavy but that is with any durable cooler full of drinks and food. Our ice lasted 4 days and kept everything nice and cool. Definitely recommend this cooler!

Very durable
I use the cooler for keeping drinks for work. I haven’t added ice to the cooler in weeks although after 2 weeks it became water. The water is still freezing cold. It has been bouncing around in the bed of my truck for a little over 2 months. It has one small scratch from hitting the tailgate other than that it’s in perfect shape.

Super happy with RTIC Cooler. Way better performance than $60 cooler
My new RTIC cooler is fantastic. I loaded it with food and beverages along with a 20 lb bag of ice plus all the ice from my ice maker. Call it 30 pounds total. After 24 hours in 90 degree weather, there was barely any melt. My food was nice and cold. At breakfast the next morning, I could see some water at the bottom. 48 hours later there was STILL 10 lbs of ice in the cooler. The only issue was after I got home and emptied most of ice was a vacuum lock that I had to unscrew the drain to be able to open the cooler. NO issues while camping, just high performance.

Bang for the buck
It aint a Yeti. Cheaper, way lighter, doesn’t hold ice as long. But $165 cheaper, it’s such a better value. 2 day beach camping trips, pre-chilled the cooler before the trip, it is awesome. Still have ice on the drive back from PINS. For the 10day overland trips and dispersed camping, Yeti all way!! But it sucks when they get stolen. Rtic all the way for regular stuff!

Sturdy and Cheap
Compared to my friend’s yeti there was barely a difference in how well the ice held up over a 3 day camping trip. After the 4 days would probably be a bigger difference but the price for the value is definitely worth it for me who loves weekend camping.

Not impressed.
For the money I expected GREATNESS especially after reading so many good reviews. I have now taken the cooler to two different camping festivals and well….the ice just didn’t hold keeping my cooler cool…but not cold. Extremely disappointed especially for the price. I have a friend that has a smaller cooler different brand and even in extrem temperatures his cooler stayed iced down (with minimal melting) and extremely cold. So here I am thinking how in the heck are the reviews so amazing but the product is just meh… I took my basic igloo that I paid 50 bucks for just to compare and already knowing ice would melt fast in my igloo but like I said I wanted to compare which coolers ice would melt first and which cooler would stay the coolest… with paying well over 200 vs the cheap igloo let’s just say I’ve never been more disappointed. As much as I camp this was the year I finally invested in something NICE, so just as I was about to jump the gun and buy a yeti with all the food good reviews on this cooler and saving a little bit over $150 I thought this was gonna be such an amazing buy… all and all wish I would’ve just saved my money when and went the extra mile and splurged. I will say beautiful design just not what I expected and definitely not satisfied. First festival was 5 days had to make sure it was iced down every day cause ice was melted and the outside temperature wasn’t extreme so I didn’t expect having buy ice everyday second festival camped for a week and I already knew with the extreme heat ice was definitely gonna be needed but again ice was 1000% needed everyday for each day I woke up and got into the cooler inches of melted ice and ruined food from being submerged in water… and the whole point was to save money not having to buy overpriced food by the last day of the second festival all the food I prepped cheese lunch meats ect…ruined. Such a disappointment and again should’ve just splurged for high and better quality.

Poor colour choice
I know silly! But I wanted a Teal or Seafoam cooler…(colour matters) hence why I ordered this one…..risking not going for the Yeti.Sadly we are travelling so cannot return ( or I would) the lid is so so mismatched to the colour of the cooler.Later I found the colour I wanted (too big) and a White and Grey one. Which would have been a better choice.I am sure it will perform great! But for the money I failed at this purchase and have given up being the person who shops!Again probably an amazing cooler but no clue why the mix match is so awful!#fail

Before you buy…
After reading reviews on this cooler, watching videos and reading descriptions I decided to go ahead and purchase this cooler. While I cannot speak to the durability or the ice longevity of this cooler yet because we just received it I can speak on the experience we have had so far. First it was delivered using LSO (a delivery company I have never heard of). The delivery vehicle was a rundown mini van with an LSO sticker on the side. The box the cooler was delivered in reeked of cigarette smoke and made the front room in our house smell terrible. Thankfully the cooler inside was wrapped in a bag so it did not smell but when we opened the cooler we discovered that it DID NOT come with the divider and basket. We were disappointed but decided to reach out to RTIC so they could just send them without having to get a replacement cooler and their response was “Hello Leah, Thank you for reaching out regarding your recent order. Unfortunately the basket and divider are no longer included with the purchase of an Ultra Light cooler, they will need to be purchased separately. We will take this feedback to our team for review and appreciate you taking the time to let us know. Have a good day.”. I feel it would be very helpful if they would put that in the description that they have recently decided to stop selling this cooler with them. I hope all this information helps others know all the information before purchasing.

Sturdy Construction
Had a bid of a bumpy start due to the delivery. The first one was delivered outside of our property on a day we did not know . Surprise it was not anywhere to be found. The seller sent another on at no cost to me. I was informed of the delivery every step of the way this time. Purchased because we always have to go on 6 hour drives at least once a month. I was looking for something that would keep our food very cold and not swimming in melted ice after 6 hours. It is heavier and larger than I was expecting. Only 4 stars so far because we have not used it yet to find out how long ice lasts in it. to keep food cold. Will update that later.
