Camp Anywhere Your Truck Can Take You!

Rightline Gear Truck Tents Turn Any Spot Into a Comfortable Campsite. Check Sizing Guide Below for Correct Size.

Features

Floorless Design

The Rightline Gear Truck Tent features a floorless design that allows you to set up and take down the tent without removing your gear from the bed. It also prevents the tent from picking up the dirt and grime that may be on the truck bed.

Protective Straps and Buckles

The soft polypropylene straps and plastic buckles won’t damage the truck’s finish.

Color Coded Poles and Pole Pockets

All of the dome poles are marked with a colored tape that corresponds with its matching pole pocket. There is no guessing as to which pole goes where, so set up is quick and easy.

Rainfly Included

The use of the rainfly is optional; you can easily add it, depending on weather conditions. Simply position the rainfly over the tent, connect the (3) buckles on each side of the tent and adjust the straps. Tie the (3) strings around the rear edge of the rainfly to the tent poles. Make sure the rainfly’s seams are lined up correctly with the poles and you’re done!

Choosing The Correct Size Truck Tent

Use our Truck Tent Sizing Guide (located under Product Guides and Documents) to find your truck’s year, make, and model. Then double check by measuring your truck bed by hand.

The measurement should be within a few inches of what is listed as the bed length. If your model truck is missing from the sizing guide, it means that there is not currently a tent to fit it.

To Measure Your Truck Bed By Hand

  • Start with the tailgate up
  • Measure from the edge of the bed nearest to the cab
  • Extend the measuring tape until you reach the inside of the tailgate
  • Make sure you take the measurement along the bottom of the bed, not the top
  • Confirm with Truck Tent Sizing Guide Below.

Don’t forget a Truck Bed Air Mattress from Rightline Gear to make your Truck Tent camping experience complete.

    Nice!

I bought this over a year ago but just used it for the first time this weekend. It was very windy but the tent stood up to it with no issues. I wish I had used it earlier, it is awesome

Easy to put up, kept the rain out, packs small

I got this figuring off the ground is awesome to replace the ground tent. Once you put it up a couple of times and realize the orange straps simply pull things tight horizontally and they need to go between the tailgate and bed (just pinched in there) and over the outside walls of the bed….it works great. We used this with a tarp down on the bed then two large, wide air mattresses for camping. Then, simply two king sheets sewed at the foot. Perfect and comfy. The two pouches inside were handy. The tent fit the bed but I had to create two extensions for the front of the bed because the included stretchy straps were not long enough … slightly. I just bent metal and tied it to a loop of 1/4″ diamond braid … this gave it more room so we didn’t have to pull so tightly. I think this is just my bed being larger than the spec the tent was created. Other than that, it fit fine. The rainfly was easy to put up and kept the rain out. We didn’t have wind issues so I cannot say whether higher wind would create any issues but it felt sturdy enough. We used a cooler as a step into the truck bed because the wide door, while ample at the back, was higher than easily accessed from the ground. The cooler step was a perfect to step into the tent easily. Shoes stayed outside but there was plenty of room inside at the door. The one issue that we didn’t think about was taking it down and driving away for the day then coming back and putting it back up. This was tedious and required storing the bedding, etc. inside another person’s ground tent OR packing it all up and dumping it into the back seat. A pain. The idea? If it rained during the day the bedding, etc. would get wet! All bad. So, a ground tent as storage is a good idea…or a 10×10 popup thing. This way you drop the tent, grab stuff inside and toss it into the ground tent for the day (keeps bugs, thieves, rain at bay).My advice is to use this when you are stationary for a few days. Use a ground tent when using the vehicle often – it’s no big deal to take both, IMO and have a choice. I will use this for a weekend campsite while fishing, or hiking an area that doesn’t require driving.I rated the easy to assemble as 3 because of the adaptation I had to make … and because the instructions really don’t explain the two orange straps….and, these straps move around when you are tightening everything else…or can move….and this throws off the whole gig til you fix them again. Sounds like a big deal but it’s not – practice made this almost a non-issue.Finally – CLEAN YOUR BED! get the grease off the gate pins! You will get greasy if you don’t. Consider wearing disposable gloves around the underside of the truck bode, too….when clamping things on you can get dirty – again, not a big issue but it’s NOT DIRT but truck goober.

Great Value, Fits GMC Sierra Well

This tent is an excellent value. It also fits my 2021 GMC Sierra short bed (crew cab) perfectly. And it is also very spacious inside and seems to handle wind surprisingly well. I chose this tent because it does not have a tub/floor, so it can be put up without removing everything from the bed, and it also fits nicely over my backflip MX4 tonneau cover, which when folded up, creates a nice shelf inside the tent. Those are the good points. As an engineer and longtime camper and backpacker however, I see several points for improvement. My main issue is that it takes one person about 10 or 15 minutes to set up the tent, which is about the best that I think can be done after practice. While this is not an unreasonable number, but most modern backpacking tents can be set up in under five minutes. The tent uses old-school pole sleeves instead of clips, and it uses stitched pockets instead of grommets for the tips. Not only does this make it more difficult to set up, but based on my experience, I predict it will also lessen the lifetime and durability. The tent also lacks double-thick or overlapping material at stress, points such as corners. If you follow the instructions, you should not have any problems over-tightening, or ripping the tent, at least not on this model truck. However, you do need to be more careful then perhaps is conducive to quickly setting up the tent, and you can’t leave the tent adjusted for next time; you need to loosen all the straps and start over each time, or it will be too tight and could tear. The orange internal tightening straps also have a plastic clip which are not very durable and don’t fit over stock tiedown with the spray-in bedliner. This is minor, and I replaced my plastic clips with aluminum carabiners, but it’s another example of where this tent could be easily and cheaply improved. Finally, having a zipper on the forward-facing window screen would allow you to access the truck cab through the sliding rear window. This would allow you to transfer stuff back-and-forth between the cab and the tent, without walking all the way around. Overall, I am quite pleased with the purchase, mainly because the value for what you get is quite good, and it does meet my needs quite nicely. I think this would be an excellent choice for a first truck tent or for occasional use, but I see several areas for inexpensive improvement

Not a good fit to Gladiator

I’ve decided to reluctantly keep this tent because it’s the only “open floor” truck bed tent I can find in the market, and I have a tonneau cover that I’m not going to remove every time. I’m not happy with the condition it was delivered to me in either as the tent sides had scuffs and some imperfections. The HUGE gaps between the tent wall and truck bed sides are a problem and this was obviously NOT designed to accommodate the fenders of a gladiator despite the recommended application. In fact, there are about 2 inches of space between the bed side and tent wall. I will modify the tent and hopefully I can find a way to make it work.

Great tent for the price on a Jeep Gladiator

Great tent for the price on a Jeep Gladiator.Initially, I missed the part of setting up the tailgate pocket which caused the entry to not lay flat. I watched the Quatratec video, but later form my issue after watching the official Rightline video, which has more detail. Lightweight material but very strong. In cold weather be sure and put the rainfly on or you will lose heat through the “skylight” vents.Nice features include:Two front zippered vents in addition “skylight” ventsHook for hanging light or fan from tent roof.Waterproof instructions sewn into the stuff bag for ready reference.I would like to see:A four season version of this tent.Longer internal side bed flaps with more pockets.Design the entry to be vertical instead of sloped to maximize the internal space.

    Quality is just Ok

I picked up one of these “used” from Amazon for $58 plus tax. It’s actually not too bad putting it up even solo in somewhat windy conditions. Even putting the rain fly on in the wind is easy once you can clip in one corner at a time very, very easily. I like how they did that.I’m not going to use this very much, as it won’t fit my whole family but on the off chance I go solo camping or with my just my son it will be fine. The overall quality is just OK. For $58 I’m pretty happy but I’m not sure I would have been if I’d paid $179. But if you take care of it, it should be fine.

    Zipper pops

Was awesome! The first time, after the 3rd use it started becoming harder to setup properly. After a few more uses the zipper popped. I eventually got it realigned and was able to sleep that night, rained so it was a good thing. So I’d say it’s fine for a few uses of a light camper. Any heavy use is not gonna last sadly.

    Super convenient

I spent a summer living in my truck and this made it so easy to set up anywhere quick. My gear broke down in my truck bed into storage containers, I’d whip this out when I arrived where I wanted to set up and I could st everything up from inside the tent. I wish there was a way to attach to the cab and crawl through from inside but it was fine as is. It didn’t fir perfect but I had a smaller older model ranger and it was workable. Didn’t use it in a whole lot of weather, just some rain. It was fine. I’d by it again for anther trip like that.

    If you need a backup.

This tent needs some improvements. I like the idea but in real life it concerns me. As you can see in my photos, there is a shelf that is ripe for water collection right at the door flap. This is also an area where some others have commented there’s a lot of stretching of the fabric near the zipper. Making it hard to close. The tent itself is about 10 inches too short for my truck bed. I have a 2016 four-door Toyota Tacoma with a 5 foot bed.The other issue I have is the rain fly. The parts of the tent that are covered by the rain fly are dry, and don’t have any morning dew on them. However, where my head and the bedding is was damp with dew because the rain fly does not cover the entire tent. Also, if it were to rain and you needed to get out of your tent, everything that you have near the door is going to get wet.The interior baskets attached to the side are of no use to me because they don’t fully hang down inside of my truck bed. This item will get shelved and probably not used again, or I may attempt to return it

    Nice little set up.

I have only used it once so far in 19° temps and it worked great on my 2018 Toyota Tacoma. I can’t wait to use it in the summer and see how well it does in the rain to see if I stay dry. There are only 2 mods I would do on it and that being the main top zipper being able to unzip from the top as well. The other would be to add a little more fabric and longer pole over the door to get it so the back panel with the door to not droop. That is only concern is the door drooping if it rains and water getting in.

    Good Tent

Good Tent! Currently driving a Chevy Silverado 1500 ’13 and the tent fits pretty well. The accessory pouches on sides were a bit out of alignment with my bed, but everything else fit pretty seamless. Instructions were clear enough (make sure you follow it’s ordering). After trying it out for weekend camping, I set it up for a second time to clean and all in all, it only took about 10 minutes to setup, and about the same amount to tear down. The tent and accessories fit easily within it’s storage bag. I am curious to see how many uses I can get out of this tent. I’ll update to 5 stars after a few more outings to check integrity. If you’re on the fence, I would say try this one out; make sure you order the correct bed sizing though.

    COMPLETELY changed my camping experience!!

It’s not the quickest thing to set up but its absolutely worth the extra few minutes. I recommend this style truck bed tent over ANY other. The floor-less design allows for ease of clean up and no worry of tracking mud, dirt etc into your tent. The shell design keeps rain and snow outside the vehicle. The rain fly also does a great job at keeping warmth in at night and when removed the views are spectacular.I set this up during a freezing rain storm outside Sedona in February, and once finished was able to sleep safely elevated from the torrents of water on the ground. Had room for my kitchen set up, a buddy heater and was even able to stand up for a warm sponge bath after being pelted by the hail while setting up. It turned what would have been a miserable night camping into an unforgettable experience. I wish I had this sooner.

Great product but the advertised sizing was incorrect.

This is a 2022 Ford Ranger XLT 4×4 SUPERCREW. The tent is Model 110766 Mid Size Shortbed, Tall, 5 feet. It’s about 1 foot shorter than it needs to be.This is what the Rightline Sizing Guide directed me to purchase. As you can see in the pictures, the front corners of the tent are about 10 inches BEHIND the tail lights. They are still on the fenders. This forces a significant stretching load on the tent door zipper and it’s about to tear. I followed all instructions correctly and found this problem. The correct size is 6 feet (not 5 feet) and that means the correct tent Model is 110761 Mid Size Shortbed, Tall, 6 FEET for a 2022 Ford Ranger XLT 4×4 SUPERCREW.I will reach out to Rightline to correct this.

27mph winds were no match for this tent!

I was weary of ordering this tent because of others reviews on the quality of straps, but the good outweighed the bad so I decided to order it. When I tell you this tent exceeded every single one of my expectations… I took it to camp on a dirt lot in Las Vegas and in the middle of the night we had a huge dust storm and winds of 27mph. Everyone else’s tents were blown to smithereens, my tent was standing just fine. The install took me 15 minutes by myself my first time and 10 minutes once I knew what I was doing.I noticed the one detail I wished more people had posted about was the length of their vehicles and how the tent fit. I ordered the full size standard, for 6.5 foot bed, for my 2003 Chevy Silverado and it fit like a glove. Just make sure you include the open tailgate in your measurements when you go to order. The quality of the tent is beyond great, just heed the warnings of not over tightening the straps and you will be just fine. Can’t wait to bring this tent everywhere with me on all my future adventures!

    Don’t Believe The Hype

I purchased this tent two years ago but I’m just getting around to using it because of the pandemic. My wife and I went on a dry run in the driveway and the 6-foot size will NOT fit a 2021 Toyota Tacoma with a 6-foot bed. Regardless of what others have said before or what the chart states, it is about six inches too short. It was stretched so tightly, it ripped. Now, it’s been two years since I purchased it, and I can’t return it. Buy a larger tent or go with a different company’s product.

    Fits like a glove!

I watched a number of reviews for this tent. A lot seemed to have trouble with gaps near the tailgate or the door being way to tight? Pretty sure they didn’t order the correct version for their truck size. I have a ram 5’7”bed with the rambox storage and this thing fits perfectly. The extra wide side rails gives tons of storage space, sort of like shelves. Anyway, the only negative (not worth deducting a star) was one of the orange straps that you connect on the inside of the bed to pull the tent UP tore off. Poor sewing I guess. But I had some heavy duty Kevlar threat and it’s stronger now that it would’ve been factory anyway. Other than that, it’s a great tent if you make sure to order the correct size. Also, the fact that it doesn’t have a floor was a huge plus. I don’t want to have to unload everything before I set it up. Anyway, great truck tent, I’d recommend.

Amazing durability through a very windy night

I ordered this for a weekend trip that came up on rather short notice. The delivery came later than expected so I did not have time to practice the set up at home before my trip, but it was not too difficult to set up and came with very straight forward instructions. I own a 2017 TRD off road edition Toyota Tacoma, for the record. The trip was located out in east Texas in some open and very windy fields (springtime) That night, the wind gusts were 10-15 mph (rough guessing based on past experience). Other tents out at the event were struggling with their rain covers trying to blow away, and another stand-in tent was constantly collapsing. But not this tent! The fact that it secured so well to the bed of the truck and the reasonable quality of material and manufacturing made it the envy of others. I could hear the wind ruffling against the material but it barely moved and I had no worries about it holding through. The rain cover buckles down with those plastic click fasteners and I could not be more satisfied. Well worth the purchase.

    Best bang for your buck!

The media could not be loaded.

This tent is good quality! It is a little on the thin side but its pretty much like any other tent so you do have to be aware when putting it together. My girlfriend and i would pull the entire tent off when it was time to drive the truck and just pick it back up and set it up once we were back at the campsite. Once you set it up for the first time, it just gets easier and easier!

Bought for my Gladiator, very satisfied so far

Just set it up in the driveway to test the fit. Set up took about 30 minutes, but should be quicker now that I know how to do it and takedown only took about 10. Paired it with the Airbedz mattress and fitment is near perfect. Materials seem to be of good quality. Vehicle is a ‘23 Gladiator, tent size is 110766. The only issue I see so far is that the buckles on the straps touch the paint on the sides of the truck bed, but if you’re worried about minor scratches that could be easily dealt with by just putting some rags between the straps and the truck.

    Fits great!!

This fit my sons 2021 GMC Canyon very well. It came in less than a week and just in time for his camping trip this weekend. We opened it up and had it all set up on the truck in about 15 minutes. Pretty good for our first time. So when not using the rain tarp that covers it, It has a moon roof for star gazing and a window on each side should allow for a nice breeze to come through on warm nights. Two storage pockets inside. A little worried that the straps might eventually scratch the paint on the sides of the truck bed if he’s not careful but he’s going to line each side with beach towels to prevent that. There is also one spot on either side where the tail gate meets the truck where mosquitos could get through if it’s not fixed just right. Will update this review next week after his first camping trip with it.

    Nice addition to my truck,

I’m glad I choose this truck tent over the full enclosed one. Went to a national park and stopped at a campground. The tent was easy to setup and take down. I have a tundra with a rug bedliner which is like a carpet around the truck bed. The truck tent was the perfect addition. The tent made my bed feel like a camper. We haven’t tested the tent in the rain yet, but while in the park, we had a windy night. The tent was sturdy and held in place.Recommendation:I didn’t like the air bed height in the truck bed and was worried I might have objects in the truck bed that can puncture the air bed. Instead of using an air bed, I purchased a twin foam mattress. The foam mattress worked better than an air bed. If you get a full or queen, you can cut it to match your truck bed. I ended up buying a twin 3″ foam bed. To reduce the foam bed for storage, purchase the space saver bag

SpaceSaver Premium Space Saver Vacuum Storage Bags, (40 x 30 Inch) 10 x JUMBO SIZE BAGS

and this reduces the foam bed to fit in a storage box container that can be pushed to the side for storage. This bag fit the twin foam size nicely. You may have to find other ways to store if you get a full or queen size.Pros:Easy to setup and take down.Do not have to remove items from the truck bed when setting up tent.Held in place with windy condition.Cons:Poles tend to open a small gap by side where they fit into the slits. You can tighten the straps, but not as tight.

    Good tent

I bought this for my 2021 Dodge Ram 5’6” bed with a trifold cover. Mine had a tear where the tent poles go through but Amazon is sending out a new one. I initially had some problems on fitting it due to operator error. You need to remember to make sure where the sides are lined up properly where they meet the back tailgate area. Also it says you can’t use it with a tonneau cover. If you place it carefully and not so tight where the cab meets the truck bed it will work with the cover on. Just make sure you don’t fold up that last part of the cover but use it like a shelf inside the tent. I had the option of returning the tent or replacing it and I am having it replaced due to the tear. I recommend this tent for a solo or couple camper

    ATTENTION SILVERADO AND SIERRA OWNERS!

I don’t often write reviews, but I wanted to hopefully save some people some time. If you own a Chevy Silverado or GMC Sierra short bed (5’-10”) the manufacturer says the “full size short bed” model is what to order. That is incorrect. I ordered and it was way too short. I’m assuming this is because their short bed model is for a 5’-5” bed, but who knows. I returned and re-ordered the “full size – Standard bed (6.5’)” without much confidence it would fit. To my surprise it fit lengthwise like a glove. Width wise it’s a little tight, but definitely fits.Anyway – 4 stars because the manufacturer didn’t know what product to recommend for one of the most popular trucks on the market.Note that my truck is a 2020 so I am not sure about previous body styles, but am pretty sure that the older Silverados had a similar bed size.Happy camping!

If you don’t like sleeping on the ground….Rightline 110750 Full-Size Short Truck Bed Tent 5.5′

I’d suggest this tent! (Rightline Gear 110750 Full-Size Short Truck Bed Tent 5.5′) It worked for me and my son on a church youth campout. I gave it a dry run and put it up in the driveway the day before, because I knew it would be dark when we got to the campground. It is super easy to install and really intuitive. I do question its overall longevity and quality when considering the seams and strap buckles, but for one use it has worked great. I’ll follow-up if I run into any problems in the future.I drive a 2021 F150 w a short bed. Passing along another reviewer’s excellent suggestion – if you have a hard folding Tonneau cover, fold it all the way forward. It fits great inside the tent, and you can use it as a shelf while having something hard over your face while you sleep which can be comforting.

    Pretty good little tent

I was on edge about this product after reading some reviews about the zipper and materials but gave it a shot. To my surprise it seems to be a very put together tent. It fits just right in my 2021 tacoma short bed and I also have a fold up bed cover that works out a shelf so that’s nice. I was pretty average when using the zippers but I spent 5 minutes just opening and closing the door and windows with no issues. It took me 10 mins to set up by myself the first time set up so easy to set up. I would 9 out of 10 recommend a friend. To early for a 10 out of 10 lol

Great design that fits over back flip covers

Works well. Practice 3-5x setting up and then you will get it. Works well over backflip keeping last section down. Most important straps to tie down are the interior orange ones which hold the tent in place. If you forget those it will not work.

    Exactly what I hoped for

Perfect for camping with your truck, off the ground, easy to set up and take down (15 min first time, 10 thereafter), and packs small. The fact that it’s open bottom is really nice so I don’t have to take anything out to set it up. Also fits over roll-up tonneau bed cover, shown in pictures. Although, I thought it was clever that some people even use their tri-fold bed covers as a shelf. Can’t speak for rain just yet, but we’re not the least bit worried. It’s really easy to set up, so enjoy watching terrible reviews on YouTube about the fitment/holes. My pictures show this is a non issue. The key is to clip the internal orange straps to the bed tie downs and tighten them which lift the tent into the correct position after the tent poles are in their slots. Lifting the tent helps. Then just snug the exterior straps which pull agains the orange straps (supported from both sides).

I’m giving this tent 5 stars even though one of the inside straps broke (easily fixed by just knotting it). I’m extremely impressed with thing. Sets up in a few minutes by yourself but much easier with two people. The fact that you don’t have to empty your truck bed to set it up is why I selected it. Highly recommend if you are thinking about a truck bed tent.

Delicate tent – but fun and easy!

Overall we love this tent – the space and headroom are spectacular. Very easy to put up – pay attention to color stickers on tension poles – I broke a one by trying to fit into the wrong guides. Fits snug – a little to snug for my liking over the back end of the truck and tailgate. Tore the tent trying to fit it over backend of bed and tailgate in the dark. Great for summer camping but inside frosts up in lower temps. Has great storage and very easy to fold an store. Great price point!

    Great truck bed tent

Tent seems well made especially for the price. I used the tent on a 2 night camping trip. Rained hard the second morning and everything stayed dry inside. I like that there is no interior floor. It allowed me to retain my truck bed tool box for secure storage while away from camp.

Watch the you tube install video!!!

The directions in the bag are not the best… and it all seems pretty simple even without them.. but IHad a huge kink in my door that pissed me off. I found the you tube video they have, I made 2 simple tweaks and it’s perfect!Couple notes: I have a roll back cover on my Short bed, super crew F-150, you will need to leave it about 6 inches short of fully rolled before you start assembly. I actually ended up using it as a “shelf”.Wanna get slick you can fasten a piece of hose from rear heater vent, out your rear slider and up under tent for cold nights.. just hit the remote start and you have instant heat. Would be a nice add if they made a rear window to allow access to back seat for storage etc. it’s a great tent so far! Oh, I use an old futon mattress for sleeping. Glad I finally pulled the trigger.

Size Matters!!! Way Too Short for 2021/22 F-150 Short Bed

Please read entire review, as this is a very nice tent, but oddly, the company doesn’t “size” these properly. The first one we ordered, the Full Size, Short Bed (5.5′) version, was about 7 inches too short, making operation of the rear tent door very cumbersome and difficult. The company apparently classes these based on the Interior measurements of the bed for a tent that covers the Exterior of the bed. My wife and I returned the “short bed” version for our truck and bought the 6.5′ Standard Bed version instead, which works like a charm!!!! We love this tent because we can still keep the tonneau cover as a “shelf,” and since it doesn’t line the interior of the bed, we don’t have to empty it before installing the tent. My wife is very happy with this longer version!!! ;-)Seriously, this is a wonderful tent, but if you have a 2021 or 2022 short bed F-150, get the 6.5′ version.

    Best truck tent out there

First time using we got hammered by 10 hours of rain with 10 inches of recorded rainfall. This tent still stalwart in the face of heavy rain and winds and we were completely dry. The only downfall is that when you open the door the water falls in. It could use a canopy hood on the door to prevent that but otherwise I’m extremely impressed. Easy to put up and tear down.

Fits perfectly on standard bed Tundra. Very happy. Looks good too.

I bought this for a last-minute scouting trip. I don’t sleep well on rocks/tree/branches, I mean, who does? You there, the guy in the back with your hand raised. Yeah, you, you’re more man than the rest of us, fine, point proven. I have a fold-a-cover on my 6.5 foot bed Tundra and didn’t want to remove it. So I looked for a floorless model. I was able to fold my cover up normally and still use this truck tent flawlessly. The trip was awesome and I slept soundly. The Utah desert was alive at night with the sounds of snoring. The fit to the bed was snug and no buggies could get in. With the rainfly off and the door unzipped for the screen, the airflow was very good and I could not have asked for more from this tent.I have since used it a second time in the high mountains and got rained on a couple of times. The rainfly works like a charm and I remained 100% dry.I am a little concerned that the seams aren’t going to last for years. You do pull a couple of them snug enough that you can see a bit of strain on them, but none have failed yet. The rainfly also doesn’t cover the screen mesh on the door, so if you open your door to let air in when it’s raining, you’ll get some water in as well. With the rainfly on, it will get stuffy, exactly like a normal tent. The colors are nice. The no-see-um mesh works wonderfully against small gnats and overall I am thrilled with this purchase.I wouldn’t hesitate to order it again. I hope the durability proves that I don’t have to.

Love love love my rightline tent.

This tent is easy to set up, easy to take down, packs down small enough and is very waterproof. We use it year round… Plan on using it in May during an Oregon/California coastal road trip from BC. I highly recommend this tent. Rightline gear seems to be very engaged with their customers online as well which is nice to see. I guess the only downside is that this tent has no bottom. We usually have a small broom with us and quickly give the bed a sweep before set up. If its wet out we throw down a small tarp. I did have one occasion where the tent wasn’t set up tight enough and because it has no bottom the mosquitos found their way in the gaps. The mosquitos were VERY bad at that location though and I have never had any bugs come in any other time. Solid purchase! Our camping friends have all converted to truck bed tents because of ours, hehehe. I also prefered the color scheme to some of the other truck bed tents out there but that’s just me.Update! Still love this tent. I have a new truck new and I repurchased this tent in a smaller size so I could use it with the new vehicle. Rightline’s customer service has proved to be excellent as well. I received the second tent I purchased from amazon nut when it arrived it was missing the rain fly. As I am a canadian purchasing from amazon.com (not .ca) and picking up my items from a parcel place across the line returning the tent to amazon was a costly hassel. After contacting rightline and providing proof of purchase they promptly sent me a replacement rain fly. I am a huge advocate for rightline gear. Gwt one of these tents. You wont regret it.

Excellent tent! If you don’t have a rooftop camper budget, this is for you!

Excellent tent! We spent 4 days camping in Colorado in August with rain every other day, never got a drop inside the tent! Airflow with the rain fly can be fairly restricted since it basically blocks the mesh portion, and it’s NOT a problem in the cold, but in hot climates that might be problematic. I’ve seen more elaborate designs on rooftop tents where the rain protection is suspended from mesh portion, but honestly for how simple and cheap this particular tent is, I can’t fault it for optimizing features. We have a folding bed cover which served like a nice shelf for bags and tooth brushes, and cell phones and whatever else you might want to put there at night. The tent has a few bags inside that are very useful for same if you don’t have the cover. The only downside of this style of camping is having to unload the bed, which in our case was pretty significant with 3 people and various offroad and camera/drone gear, but that’s nothing to blame this tent for, simply keep it in mind when planning your purchase.

    Great tent for the price

Only used one so far on a multi night trip. Tent was very easy to set up; the instructions were clear and concise, both in the verbiage and the pictures. Took a little bit of work to get it arranged just right on the bed rails. We found it easier to align it on the rails after putting the poles in first, contrary to the instructions. Our setup in the pictures is a VERY thick inflatable queen sized mattress on top of a 9 inch platform. As you can see, it doesn’t leave much room to get in. This was a quick trial run, so we intend to invest in a folding foam mattress that’ll give us about 10″ of clearance back. Even with that, there was plenty of headroom.Another downside for our setup… my bed is 5’6″. I’m 6’4″ tall. With the way the tent extends over the tailgate, there’s plenty of room. However, with the slant of the door side of the tent, combined with the super thick mattress, we had some issues with fully closing the door flap. That was due to our setup, though, and not the tent. The zippers, straps, buckles, hooks, rain fly and tent materials are appear to be good quality. My only complaint would be that the skirt on the inside, that sits on the rails, didn’t want to hang inside the bed so much as sit on top of the rails. That could be an alignment thing, but I’m not sure. Either way, it was a minor issue. Overall, we’re very happy with ours.

Plenty of room for two, plus dogs!

Finally set this up this weekend on our ’98 Ford F150 6.5′ bed. The instructions are fairly clear on how to hook everything together, and are actually sewn to the storage bag so you don’t have to worry about losing them. One thing to watch out for would be if you have any accessories like bed tie downs that stick up, we have metal tie down hooks that stick up about 1-2″ and were worried about the rear one with the tent. The tent went up fairly quickly with two of us and having never used a bottemless tent. The hardest part of sitting it up was unfolding it and figuring out which side was up and where the correct corners were quickly. Tie down and adjustment points are adequate, plenty, and look sturdy enough the way they are sewn in. We put it up without using the rain fly, which should be just as easy to put on following the instructions. We went camping in an open field in the summer, but found a few trees to get a little shade for a few hours; even in the direct light and without the rain fly on, inside stayed comfortable with plenty of ventilation. We were also surprised by how much room this tent actually has, especially it’s head room.We had our two dogs with us (Husky/Boxer and a GSD) and all still comfortably fit and slept thanks to the tailgate being down. The dogs were curious of the tent at first but never challenged it or tried to push through the mess windows. The only thing was during the night, one of the dogs rolled in her sleep and found probably the only “open” section of the tent which is at the end of the tailgate, and rolled out onto the ground (she was fine, confused, but fine). That section isn’t open, it actually curls under the tailgate to seal out water and wind, but it doesn’t prevent anything pushing from the inside from falling out. So if you pack items in the truck bed with you rather than in the truck try to keep them away from the tailgate. I do wish this section of the tent had adjustable tie downs as well just to give a little bit more security.**Side note**If you have a lifted truck, you may want to bring a stool, not to get in and out, but to reach the door zipper when it goes to the top. It was slightly difficult for my wife to reach the zipper at the top to open it and hard for her to finish closing it from the outside even though our truck is a standard non 4×4 and not lifted.

Great tent for those not wanting the bed liner part

So this is a good truck bed tent if you have a folding bed cover. I have a hard tri-fold cover and this fits over the top, then the bed cover acts as a shelf for gear within the tent which is handy. See yellow arrow in pic. The fit is a bit snug on my 2021 Ram Rebel, but it does fit.Likes: 1) that it works with a truck bed cover. Others with a drop in, full tent floor don’t work. 2) decently easy to set up 3) makes for easy remote camping, as we can camp if we can park. 4) price isn’t bad. Not going to break the bank. 5) decent vents in tent and zip up windows.Dislikes: 1) I do wish the fly covered the door better allowing for it to be open if raining. An awning just sticking out a bit would help. The rain fly on this lays flat on the top of the door. So essentially there’s no fly coverage on the door. Odd design. 2) quality is good. But after two uses I have a cut and a slight tear. Not too bad. Company did send me repair tape but geez.Tips: 1) bring something to wipe off truck if driving someplace muddy. Not pleasant setting up tent when truck fenders are all muddy. 2) An 18” hitch extender and step are great additions for easy access in and out. 3) I cut some gym floor mat scraps for bed of truck and slept on a 4” roll up pad from Amazon. Slept great.

    Fits F150 well

I got this for my 2023 F150 5.7 bed. Easy to put up and attach to the bed. I watched a couple videos before ever attempting to use and would recommend the same. I like the floorless option on this because I didn’t want to need to empty the bed to use it. I did take the time to setup the tent and spray it down with waterproofing spray to ensure it wouldn’t leak but I do that with all new tents I want to ensure a dry night with. I was a little apprehensive about this tent due to some of the bad reviews but I think if you make sure you are ordering the right one for your truck and sealing it properly you don’t have much to worry with on this tent.

Easy to use and work well; Chevy Colorado model was perfect fit

Setup:Mostly painless, took about 25 minutes detailed reading instructions and about 15-20 a few weeks later with much less reading. Some awkwardness of the fit but getting everything into place isn’t too bad.Things definitely stretched out after I put the poles up the first time which helped.Good instructions sewn right into the bag, very helpful!Function:No floor was a must for me, it fits over my DIY platform perfectly.Spacious even with said platform.Plenty of vents; on a hot day (I tried it at 98 degrees) I would absolutely want a fan or similar stillRetains the tailgate space quite well, the third pole holds the door up out of the way.Water proofing:Excellent. I blasted it from several angles with a hose the first time and got it up ahead of a pretty nice thunderstorm the second time and didn’t see anything get wet.My only minor complaints:I really thought I was gonna break a pole or tear a seam the first time I put it up. Once it stretched out second time was fine; be cautious! I heard many creaks and had very minor splintering on one end of a pole sectionThe rain fly is very difficult for one person to put on. I don’t blame them and it’s the nature of such a tall tent but I was wishing I was 9′ tall trying to wrangle it over the peak.Haven’t beat it up yet so I can’t comment on material quality as a whole.

    Good for price

This product is nice and is okay for the price but do not expect to get every weekend out of this tent. It is good for the occasional weekend camping trip or a few nights here and there. This tent will eventually rip and break, the assembly is okay there are parts where you may feel like you are going to break the tent putting it together just take your time and go easy it will go together. It feels pretty sturdy. The zipper can be difficult to zipper you almost always have to pull the sides together to get it to zip. The rain guard works as described. Again good for the price but not much more mine eventually ripped after 10 uses.

Works good! A little hard to set up alone

Used it about 5 times last year, agreed with the recommendations to set it up before you go camping, it’s not hard but doing it the first time in the dark would be a challenge!I have a hard time getting the poles in to the holes by myself, but with another person to help it’s a snap. They are just so tight that alone it is nearly impossible for me to get it in, and I thought it might stretch with a few times of use? Not so much.Used in the snow and the heat, rain cover makes it very hot in the heat, but cools off reasonably without it.Happy with my purchase

Great tent! but watch out for the orange straps!

We bought this tent on a whim on a Thursday to go camping on Friday, I know, talk about last minute prep and planning. Anyway, it arrived at my door Friday afternoon, you just can’t beat that one day shipping! We were super excited to sleep in this thing but unfortunately we were not able to get a camp site until Sat evening. So we get to the camp site, decide the best location for the vehicle to be parked, and start to put this puppy together.First, I’d like to comment on the construction of the tent. The storage bag is really nice because when I tore this tent down the following morning I didn’t struggle to get everything to fit back inside the storage bag. and we all know even with some folding chairs their storage bags are a pain in the behind to get back in the bag it will make you literally want to toss it in the camp fire. I was surprised to find that there was only 3 poles to install.. and they seemed made very well. The tent material itself is of decent quality and the stitching held up very well considering on some points of the tent during the set up I really stretched out.Now to the set up. It took me a few minutes to try to interpret the instructions which are sewn into the storage bag. To be honest they are not very detailed at all.. which might make some more frustrated than others at first. But I assure you, after you set this up you wont need the instructions anymore. In fact, you can replace the time reading instructions with sips of your favorite adult beverage because after you set this thing up, you wont be driving anywhere!Took me a total of 20 minutes or so setting this up. after I realized how it was supposed to come together. However I wasted a lot of time trying to understand what to do with orange straps at the front of the door. So like any other normal male I kinda just skipped past that part in the instructions thinking the usual “pfft, I don’t need that!” and it was mainly because the instructions were not detailed enough to make sense and I say that due to the pictures. After I READ what it said, then I was able to work out what it was saying. When you put this bad boy up it is going to fit your truck bed SNUGGLY! in fact, when I had it up and thought it was good to go, I opened the door to the tent but when I tried to close it up, the tent was so tight that I couldn’t get the zippers to meet up again. THATS when I realized that those orange straps that I skipped in the instructions probably have something to do with that and I was right. So these straps go down behind the tailgate and your rear bumper and connect to any bolt you can find to anchor it too, you’re going to have to lay on the ground and up under your rear bumper to place these and I’ll tell you, THAT was the hardest part of the set up.The pictures don’t really give you a great view of the inside but we were surprised to find zippered air vents on each side. The tent also comes with a small pocket on each side for like a cell phone or what not, however they could have been placed a little higher or even at the back of the tent. On mine they were pretty much right below the side of my truck bed which would have made using these pockets inconvenient, but that didn’t really bother me. Also the tent has a hanger at the very top for a lantern or fan which is nice as well.I cannot comment on how this tent does in the rain because fortunately for us it was PERFECT weather while we were out, however like I said this tent fits SNUG around your truck bed and it does come with a rain flap for the top which I didn’t even bother installing, but if I would have to bet, I bet the tent would hold up well.My Only complaint about this tent is not having a floor to the tent. I use my truck for multiple purposes, from carrying my trash to the dump to building things off the tail gate, so it gets quite dirty. I had to completely wash out the bed of my truck before I could even think about laying an air mattress in there. For almost $200 the company could have included at least a tarp of some kind to cover your truck bed. Just my opinion.Over all we love this tent, it’s super easy to put up and tear down, and makes spur of the moment trips less stressful and more enjoyable!

Universal fit isn’t so universal but otherwise a great tent.

The title says it all. It fits my F250, but isn’t perfect. I used it on a freezing fog night and with a small electric space heater it was very comfortable. The fog did freeze the zippers shut on the tent though. It’s a really good tent, and I would buy it again.

Really wanted to like this tent – 2nd UPDATE

I have a 2019 Chevy Colorado and was looking for a truck tent that’s designed to fit it. I’ve purchased the #110766 model (5′ Bed – TALL BED), as recommended by Rightline to fit my truck … not once, but twice. Both times I received the #110765 model (5′ standard bed). First time I didn’t bother to open the box because on both sides of it, it clearly says what model tent it is. I figured I was just dealing with a fluke, so I returned it and ordered it again … and AGAIN, I get the #110765 model. I checked the part number tag on the tote bag … sure enough, it’s not the model number of the 5′ Tall Bed version. I’m wondering if anyone else is having this issue. I’ve emailed Rightline as I imagine they want to get this issue corrected as much as I do. I won’t try buying it a third time.UPDATE: Rightline made good on my purchase, even when Amazon couldn’t get the order right. I am giving back two stars because of their effort to provide better customer service and stand behind their product. I received the correct tent today. It went on my truck without any issues. I look forward to trying it out in the field.

    Looks and performs well

I purchased this tent for my Chevy Silverado with 5’ 9” bed. This is the 5.5’ tent The first time installed, I had trouble zipping the door shut. The second time I installed, I ensured everything was centered and straight. It made a huge difference. The door zips easily and as seen in the pics, the tent material was snug. This tent fits very well and seems to be well made. The only thing I didn’t like was it seems other brand tents have more room at the tailgate end and perhaps even a bit of an awning that hangs over the door. In the Event of rain, the front door must be completely zipped shut reducing airflow. I wish this tent has that feature and that is my reason for giving this tent a 4 and not a 5. Speaking of airflow, it seems the rain fly rests up against the tent all the way around the bottom of the fly. This essentially cuts off any airflow on warm, muggy, rainy nights. I selected Rightline since there is no bottom liner. As may be seen in the photo, I built a bed platform in the truck bed that is above the wheel wells and I didn’t want to deal with a liner. One thing some people struggle with is shoving the poles through the sleeves. This is typical with almost any tent of any kind. Simply feed the poles through the sleeves carefully by giving a slight tug on the sleeve as poles are being pushed through. All in all, this is a great truck tent that is well made and fits well. Don’t overstretch when tightening the straps and make sure all is even and snug and it should work like a charm.

Works great but a tight fit

The tent works as advertised and did fine even in wind and rain. My truck is an F250 and I have a tool box that sits on the sides of the bed of the truck. This tent works with the toolbox on it but it makes it a really tight fit. Some of the seems were pulling pretty hard (can see in the photos). With the toolbox the tent was not as good of a seal on the corners with the toolbox but I didn’t have any problems with weather coming in. I could put it up/down with my air mattress in about 15 minutes by myself.

Well I’m still here and dry!!

First night in the tent Nov 20 2023 northeast Alabama. Sever wind, rain, and flash flood warnings. I didn’t sleep much but Im dry and the tent is still in great condition. Seems to have rained about 2.5 inches so the fact I only had 1 leak, where I didn’t fully close the zipper, impressed me greatly.Easy set up, orange straps are very important!Nice color but a lot of orangeStraps down nicely and secure, wouldn’t use on truck with nice paintOver all does exactly what you should expect.

    This tent looks awesome.

So far I am loving this tent. I just got it and have not used it for camping yet but it was love at first box opening! I read ALL of the reviews, yes ALL of them. I wanted to make sure I had the right size for my 2015 Dodge ram short bed truck and I wanted to be sure that I did not make any of the erection mistakes like many others have (and damaged their tents in the process). It took a few minutes to figure out what way the tent was to be aligned on the truck. Had to look at the photo on the box. Based on other testimonies I made sure to NOT tighten the side straps until the very end. The rods do fits very tightly in the tent on my truck. I did not force anything and just wiggled the tent and shook it to makes sure everything fit without tearing. It is a good snug fit and looks awesome. I did discover that my truck does not have any “lip” edges that the hooks could hook to very easily along the sides so I had to improvise. The front hooks I hooked inside the back door under the seat and just closed the door on the straps. Perfect! Also had to attach one side strap to the rear wheel. Everything still worked perfectly. I bought a 5 foot cot to put inside but alas the cot sticks all the way out the tailgate and the door will not closed comfortably so I won’t use the cot.If you have any experience setting up poles tents this is easy. I set it up at the house in my yard (in the shade as it was about 90 that day) and I took my time and READ THE DIRECTIONS 2-3 times before going for it. I did not want to tear anything. I spent probably 30 minutes setting it up…..it took this long only because I really putz’d around. I know I could set this up in 10-15 minutes easily (I am a 55 year old woman). I am very excited to use it. Reviews said that once the rain fly is on it really cuts down on air flow through the top screened roof. I may rig up something to hold the fly further up off the roof to allow better air flow. But we shall see. I have a nice little battery op fan that I can use. I have a camp trip planned in late Sept 2017 but I don’t think I can wait that long to try this out. Have to find somewhere to camp NOW!After I have camped in it I will try to remember to come update my review! Fingers crossed.

    Nice

Material and stitches seem kinda thin. Went up easily and was perfect size (4 door Silverado)

My “RV”….great camping rig for primative camping

My truck bed is only 5’6” but with this tent, my truck gate down, the steps still work and the gate handle pushes the tent back wall out….makes a perfect room for someone 6’4”….i can fully stretch out on a nice comfy mattress.Really like the way this is set up, my truck bed is carpeted, the only challenge for my setup is the truck and removing the one piece bed fiberglass cover. Very much like this truck bed tent!

    Toyota Tacoma

This fit my 2022 Tacoma (double cab, short bed) perfectly. First use, it rained fairly hard for over 18 hours. The only water to get into the tent came through the door, as it was opened/closed. All in all, good bang for the buck.

    Pretty awesome tent!

I like this tent a lot but had to say 4 stars for one main reason the zippers only zip one way and close at the bottom of the tent, so when you need to get out for any reason it’s a pain reaching down by the tailgate at your feet to work them especially if it’s dark. Also I’ve seen in other reviews saying it droops near the entrance, I also struggled with this but there are two yellow straps on the inside that remedy that problem, it’s just not intuitive and is easy to miss. But when in place the tent holds its position really well even against strong winds!

    Great Truck Bed Tent

This tent is perfect for our F150 truck. We’ve used it several times when we spent the weekend at the coast on a friend’s ranch. Super fast to set up and very well made. Kept us plenty warm inside with thick ocean mist outside. Very happy with our purchase.
