Boots
With all respect I want to say that this timberland men’s pitboss boots are not comfortable, not flexible, they are too heavy and I return them because the boots hurt my right feet now I am in pain but that so I am disappointed with this type of boots.

Sturdy boots with peeling on the toes
I sprung for a more expensive shoe in hopes I would find one that doesn’t wear out on the steel toes or completely fall apart in the first month. I frequently am on my knees or scrape my boots on things, so they normally wear out quickly. It doesn’t help that I’ll wear the same pair every day.I bought them in July 2022 and wore them 10 hours a day, 5 or 6 days a week, until I stopped that job in late August. I was happy that they didn’t wear out at the toes. I went back to work in mid May, 2023. One toe started peeling by that June. The first picture is from June 13, 2023. The second toe soon followed. The second picture is from July 14, 2023. Once the metal was exposed a bit, the hole just got bigger. If you think about it, I only wore the shoes for 2 months, took a yearlong break, and wore them for another 3 months. It doesn’t seem like they should break at the toes by that time. However, I do go pretty hard on my shoes. That all being said, the overall structure of the shoe stated the same. The sole didn’t fall off, as I’ve experienced with cheaper shoes. The laces haven’t broken, which is nice. These boots aren’t perfect, but they are the best I’ve ever had. I’m not sure what I will do when it’s time for a replacement (I’m not buying new shoes just because of the metal). If you work a job that doesn’t put a lot of friction on your toes, these shoes are great for you. If you do, I can’t give you any advice because I myself have not found a solution. Also, don’t be afraid to buy them if you are a woman. Just look up the size conversion from women’s to men’s online. They feel very comfortable for me. I’m guessing if I had bought these in women’s sizing, they would have scuffed in half the time, since women’s clothing is usually worse quality.

After “break in” a comfortable and safe work boot
I have used this brand since 2005. I bought these boots knowing they were the real deal and would require a break in period. The only way I know to break them in is to wear them. Once they are “broken-In” these are comfortable and safe work boots.

Tough and comfortable
I’ve had lots of steel tip work boots. As I make more and more money I’ve been upgrading to see if more expensive means better. So far yes. The timberlands steel toe work boots are by far more comfortable than my last 4 pairs of work boots at a lower cost.Comfort on my feet while working is a must as is safety, ie, the steel tip toes.

Most uncomfortable thing I’ve ever worn. Four stars!
Confused? :)Short review: Uncomfortable as hell when you first wear them, even with doubled up socks. Work through the break-in period. Light and comfortable now.Long review: I wanted something that was light weight, had toe protection, was real leather, and could be re-soled. I’ve been wearing a pair of unknown brand leather boots for… 20 years? Not daily, mostly weekend warrior type things. Shoveling snow, carpentry, bucking and splitting firewood, etc. They’ve been great boots, re-soled a couple times, not heavy, but they’re pretty worn and overdue for a rest. Gotta give it to real leather, wears like iron.Weight was definitely a deciding factor – I’ve got some Carolina’s that I originally ordered to replace my worn out boots, but they’re heavy and a bit clunky. Comfortable as can be out of the box, water proof, composite toe, and have light insulation, so great for the winter – not really what I want for slinging mulch or bucking wood though. After spending hours searching, I narrowed it down to these Timberlands, and a couple others, but the weight of these and the consistent good reviews won out. Man was I disappointed when I first wore them! Stiff as steel, rubbing in awkward places (e.g. ankles), darn near got blisters on my heels after a quick walk with the dog around the neighborhood. I thought I had made a horrible mistake, but I kept on with them as I’d read the break-in was pretty rough with these. Doubled up socks, wearing as much as I could stand to, when I could. Now… not fully broken in, but MUCH better. Pretty comfortable in general. I don’t even notice the toe box. Anti-slip seems pretty decent (oil on an epoxy garage floor and I didn’t slip and bust my a**). I still have concerns as to how the traction will be in other slippery conditions – mud for example. Typically I go for something with more aggressive tread.Ankle rub has dissipated. I noticed that the tongues have shifted to the side a bit (it was the tongue edge that was rubbing) and that seems to have alleviated the issue. Still a bit of heel rub. Most of the time I wear an 11, and ordered 11 in these. 10-1/2 would be too small, 10-3/4 would probably be good if that were a thing, but these are just fine at 11. I might just stick some heel pads in there.Otherwise I’m looking forward to getting down and dirty with these. Got some beeswax protection to rub on there at some point, to help keep them pliable and give them a bit of waterproofing. When I finally wear them down, they’re getting some more aggressive soles. Oh, the soles are legit stitched on – I noticed some people said the stitching was just molded in.I honestly debated doing the “soak in the tub and wear until dry” thing with these. Yeah, if you don’t know about that, read up on it. Apparently if you can force yourself to wear wet boots for a day (and if they’re real leather), this is the best way to break in new boots. I’m not tryin’ to wear wet boots for a day however. So if you buy these, just make sure to give yourself some time to break them in. I couldn’t imagine strapping these on out of the box and wearing them for an entire day. I could barely make it 30 minutes the first time I wore them!

My son loved these
Got these for my son and they’re great. Very good quality. I thought they were expensive but it seems like most of the boots like this are. They’re definitely very nice and sturdy. I can see them lasting a long while. My son really loves them. He had originally sent me a link to a different pair but I got these and a darker color instead and I’m glad I did. The dark brown is pretty slick looking.

Do Not Make The Same Mistake I Did!
I got a job working in a plant in August of 2014 so obviously I needed a pair of steel toe shoes which were mandatory. I did not have much money so I made an amateur move and purchased some steel toe Die Hard shoes from Kmart. I will not go into deep detail about the Die Hard’s, but I will say that I found myself buying a new pair of the same Die Hard shoes and replacing them around every three months and they were around $29.99 a pair. My Timberland PRO Men’s Pitboss 6″ Steel Toes did not come in until November 2015 so if you do the math, that is right, I owned 5, yes, FIVE, pair of Die Hard steel toe shoes (sometimes even doubling up) within a year and three months time so I dished out about $150.00 on those shoes altogether. So those shoes were not meant to hold up walking 8 – 12 hours on concrete for 40 hours a week. I finally decided I was tired of buying new steel toe shoes every three months and spending that type of money so I decided to do some research and came past this product and the difference is night and day. This is my sixth month owning these steel toe boots and they are still holding together great. I have absolutely no complaints. After breaking them in they are a lifesaver. As I said, this is my sixth month owning this boot and it is still holding together nicely. I really like the way these boots lace up to the top of the ankles. It makes for a very good tight fit and you rarely have to worry about retying your shoe during your job. I like how tough they are. It has been six months and by now I would have spent $60.00 on the Die Hard steel toes because they would have been worn out, ripping apart, and the steel for the toes being exposed or even popping out. These boots they are still intact, a few scratches, but nothing to complain about it is what comes with the territory. These boots are comfortable. When I was wearing my Die Hard steel toes I would come home every day and my feet would be in serious pain and be very sensitive. Now these boots do not take away the pain of walking around on concrete for 40 hours a week, but they do well absorbing the shock of walking and giving protection for your feet. The break in period did not take long at all so you will not have to worry about that. I have only one negative feedback and that is the color on the boot seemed very faded and made me question whether I received a knockoff or a already worn pair, but nothing that takes away from the quality of the product. Also I would like to suggest that if you do buy a pair of these boots that you own some socks that go up mid-knee because wearing ankle socks the material of the boot will irritate the Achilles.Do not be like me. Go out there and get yourself a good pair of work boots. You will save yourself a lot of money, time, and frustration in the process. Besides the faded color of the boots upon receiving there are not any real complaints I can come up with about this product. This is truly a top of the class work boot fit to do long hours of hard labor. I cannot really say I love these boots the only way that would happen is if it took away the pain from my feet entirely, but I will give credit when its due and say that it has help reduce the pain significantly. I hope this review helped. If you were on the fence about buying these, trust me, do it, you will not be disappointed. I would also like to give Amazon’s 3D virtual fit measurements a quick mention. I was very skeptical, but the boots ended up fitting just fine.

Great boots. Much better than the expensive Red Wings I have. Well built and very durable.
Updated June 2023:It’s been 3 years and 4 months since I got these Timberland Pro boots and I’m happy to report that they are still going strong. I work construction and wear them almost every day. I use Odor Eaters work boot insoles which I change every 3 months + another soft foam insole + the original insole and they are very comfortable. I got the boot a half size larger so it fits well with the extra insoles and I’ve never had blisters even when roofing. Roofing can be torture to your feet (and boots) because you are working on a slope so there are constant lateral forces on the bottoms of your feet. While the soles have worn some they are by no means worn out. The leather is still in very good shape other than a gouge on the toe of the right boot. It’s just cosmetic as no water gets in through it. The stitching is top notch no rips or pulled out stitches. I figure that I’ll get another 3 years or more from these boots.I did have a lace break and in a pinch I superglued it. I planned on getting new laces but haven’t because I’m cheap and lace works fine. Superglue also works good on shoelace tips that are fraying.I treated the boots once with Never Wet for boots. I was expecting that water would bead up and roll off “like water off a ducks back”, but it didn’t really bead up although water doesn’t really soak in.I would also like to note that I previously purchased a pair of these boots that were slightly too small. I wore them for a while but a couple of times after jamming my toes jumping down I got these a half size bigger. So I tossed them in the garage and planned to give them to Goodwill. Of course I forgot until about a year ago when I ran across them all dusty in the garage. Oddly the heals had deteriorated and were soft and crumbly. Not the bottom sole, just the foamy rubber rubber above it. I have read many reviews about this being a problem with Timberline boots. But this appears that Timberline has remedied the problem as my current pair has lasted a long time.Older review: Got a good deal on the through Amazon Warehouse. The description said there were minor blemishes but I couldn’t find any. I’d just seen a pair someone was selling on Craigslist for $80 in slightly used condition. I paid $60 for these and they are new. They look new, smell new, and fit great. Some days I get home burned out and I’ve fallen asleep with these on. Just like a pair of slippers! Well okay that may be a little excessive. Just call it the Trump effect… The boots are great though no bovine doo key here… umm well I gotta watch what I say or I get an email from Amazon saying I was bad and violated someone in their department that looks for violations. They should put a list out of the words they allow cuz really it wasn’t that bad. Did I mention the boots are great?

Pleasantly Pleased
These are actually nicer than I expected. Love that the hardware is metal and not plastic to decrease potential breakage. The elastic material connecting the tongue to the boot does a great job of keeping water out if that puddle turns out to be deeper than you expected. Nice and open toe for comfort. Especially on the longer hikes. Very durable. And not heavy! Weather hiking or working, my feet stay warm, dry and comfortable. Well worth it!!!

They’re okay
They look good, function as they should, and hurt for a while just like everyone else is saying. I’m not too sure about the quality of the boots due to the lining Inside right up on the heel going up a bit has completely worn out. Constantly rubs up on my heels uncomfortably. I’ve had them for almost a month now and am honestly surprised with that specific spot wearing down so quickly. I’ll try to remedy that myself but besides that, the boots are really comfortable after the break in period. Due watch out for the rubber collar around the ankle, that shit will hurt if you don’t wear the right types of socks.

Pretty solid boot for a mechanic.
Been wearing these boots for about a week straight now and I’m quite pleased thus far. The construction seems solid and I did not have any of the poor stitching noted by a few other reviewers. I typically wear a 9&1/2 but decided, based on a few reviews, that I would go 1/2 size down (that was also partly because they only had size 9…) but I’m glad I did. They were indeed quite tight at first, and with the steel toe they don’t provide much wiggle room, however, after wearing them anyways for about 6 hours the sole packed in just enough to provide a comfy fit. They are snug, but in a comfortable way. For that reason I would say they do fit as described, but consider a 1/2 size down if available if you are on the edge in trying to decide. As far as comfort, they are indeed very rigid and stiff when you first get them, I think mine may have been a floor model or something because my left boot was reasonably softer and had very very minor signs of wear. Either way, after about 3 days of wear they feel pretty good. I will also note that, if you go from wearing soft shoes and throw these on then they will still feel stiff and almost uncomfortable for a couple minutes, but then they feel fine. (I go from a desk job to a mechanic so when I change from loafers to these boots they feel like I’m wearing cinder blocks until I adjust). I also only lace them halfway, this gives me much more flex in my ankles (since I crouch alot), it also allows me to slip the boots easily on and off without tying laces each time and they still stay tight on my feet, this does make the laces really long though and I have to tie up a ball of laces to keep it from dragging. As far as the looks go, they are not that important to me, but if they are to you then know that the pictures are a little deceiving in that the boot has a much taller profile with a much bulkier toe then they appear online. The picture makes them look more like a shoe or an urban walking boot and in reality it isn’t. Its a thick bulky work boot with a tall sole and rounded toe, and they are fairly heavy, I like the way they look, but it is different than the pictures in some ways.Overall I am impressed, I hope to avoid the reports of the sole separating from the shoe, but I don’t expect it to be a problem. I am hard on my boots, but I also realize that mechanic work is much less demanding on footwear than some other professions, my biggest concern is fluids and slip resistance, which these seem to handle well.

Stylin & profiling, yet hella comfortable
I got these boots for my son. He is around 6’2 and I got a 12.5 in size. They fit him perfect and are definitely true to size. They provide so much more comfort for him on a long work day on his feet and he had no complaints and he loves them. It took a little longer than expected on shipping but all in all I am a happy customer and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable, high-quality, and very stylish pair of boots.

Breaking in period
I own a pair of Timberland hiking boots and I like them, so when I needed to buy some quality steel toed work boots I thought I would buy these boots. Overall they are great boots. Waterproof, sturdy and well built. The reason I am writing this review is to share my experience with breaking these boots in. I am aware that boots need to be broken in but I have found that my right boot still rubs on the back of my heel. The left boot is good just the right boot. I have worked the boot with my hands but to no avail yet. I am having to get heel guards to prevent discomfort. I work 12 hour shifts mostly on my feet and I can’t have a raw heel. Other than that I am overall happy with these boots. I had to order more comfortable insoles too.

Pleasantly surprised
My boyfriend needed new work boots. His doc martens were starting to fall apart. I looked to get the same boot he had before and it was discontinued. I took a shot with these and I’m so glad I did!He loves them. He is a chef, he works long hours on his feet in a kitchen where things are getting dropped and spilled daily. Not only are they comfortable and safe, they look great also! He almost didn’t want to wear them to work because he liked them too much! I’ll have to get him a “going out” pair, lol.

Didn’t last long
Was not super impressed with this boot. I work in the landscape industry, I would consider this a medium duty environment for footwear. You are exposed to some wet conditions, uneven terrain and mud are some of things to be faced. Typically a boot will last me 6 months or a little more. These did not last 4 months. Not impressed.

Not bad
Pain to break in but once they did they were extremely comfortable. Have worn them for 3 months but unfortunately one of the rivets that holds the laces ripped out. If they lasted longer they would’ve been worth the money and the pain of breaking them in. But if this is how quickly they fall apart I wont be buying another pair.

Comfiest and great for new go-er’s
One of the best first pairs of work boots online. I have other Timberland boots and these feel the same! these aren’t too heavy to begin with, but with time you’ll get used to it. I’ve been using them for automotive so standing and laying are key, this shoe has been no issue for me in any kind of position. So far I’ve recommended multiple people about these shoes for comfort and price for beginners. Will definitely get this again!

Great quality and comfortable.
This is the second pair I have bought for my husband and I highly recommend. He has had his older pair for almost 2 years.Pros:He uses these boots daily and works in a variety of work conditions indoor/outddoor, wet area, snow, slippery kitchens, roof tops, etc. These boots have lasted…and have a short break in period. the leather has softened with wear but has stayed in tact, no holes, cracks, or peeling. The stitching and seams have not come undone and the soul has not been worn down. The color is a nice dark color and the height of the hour is perfect for his needs. He works 5 days a week/10-14 hour days and walking most of the day and through four seasons in the Northeast.Cons:-Can be heavy especially larger sizes.-full price is higher than some but for the quality and longevity it is worth it IMO.

Alright
Less than 1hr of wearing, where my toes bend the boot, the leather cracked. It’s also rough above your ankle joint. The break in period on these is crazy long. For the foot, they’re comfortable… They’re just ok. If they didn’t crack so fast and rub my ankle raw, I’d give them a better score.

Perfect for warehouse work
Work in a warehouse where I use pallet jacks daily. I have to move heavy and full pallets of merchandise everywhere in the warehouse and was sick of running over my shoes and hurting my toes.Had a great deal on these Timberland steel toes and had to try. They are available for “Try before purchasing” which is the option that I chose. They fit perfectly at 9.5. Not larger or smaller. The strings hook easily when tying and the extra padding around the tops are very appreciated. They keep the ankles very stiff, which is to be expected from heavy duty workboots. I changed out the insoles for additional padding. They do keep my toes a little moist when I’m running around, but not unbearable. It’s also nice to be able to spray them off with a hose after shift.I no longer work in fear of having my toes run over.
